About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY
This position requires a blend of educational expertise in the classroom to ensure student understanding of psychology principles and success in the Master of Science of Psychology Program.
Responsibilities:
• On Campus lecture courses for psychology at the graduate level. Must live in the Kansas City area.
• Provide instruction, activities, assignments, assessments, and feedback to adequately cover all objectives for the specific course(s) taught.
• Deliver content using effectual methods which are appropriate to students with differing abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experience.
• Collaborate with university faculty and school administrators to ensure alignment between coursework and assessments.
• Participate in regular meetings and professional development provided by the University.
• Perform other duties as needed related to assigned courses.
Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree OR master’s degree + 18 additional credit hours of graduate coursework in psychology
• Minimum of masters in psychology required for teaching undergraduate courses; doctorate preferred.
• Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching.
• Teaching experience with a diverse population (preferred).
• Experience with a Learning Management System such as Canvas (preferred).
• Experience with effective methods for engaging students through online learning (preferred)
• Ability to contribute to a climate that supports a diverse student body, serves first-generation college students, multilingual learners, and contributions to equity and social justice through their work.
• Multilingual skills highly preferred.
