Job Description: Safety Coordinator

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-exempt position
Benefits eligibility: 60 days after hire date
Full Time
Reports to: Safety Director

Job Purpose: Assist the Safety Director in keeping J. Irwin Company employees safe through training and safety inspections. Maintain the companies’ compliance with Federal and State laws as well as in regulation with the companies’ clients.

Job Duties:

• Employee Training- Teach the following courses to all affected employees as requested by Safety Director
• OSHA 10+30 Hour
• PEC Basic Orientation
• Veriforce Evaluator
• CPR
• First Aid
• Aerial Lift and Forklift Trainer
• Rigger and Signal Person Trainer
• Hydrogen Sulfide Training
• Regulatory Training

Job Site safety inspections for all three companies

PPE Hazard Assessments and Job Site Evaluations

Answer and coordinate safety questionnaire for potential clients and meetings

Conduct Monthly safety meetings in all areas

Conduct Drug and Alcohol testing

Oversee TRC Program through Unifirst

Other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience required. General field experience and knowledge of natural gas pipeline construction or construction work.

Certifications Required:

• OSHA 30 Hour Course in Construction Safety
• CPR and First Aid Certified Instructor
• SAPAA Certified Collector
• PEC Orientation

Work Hours: Work hours are generally a regular work week of 40 hours; however, exact hours to work each day may vary as required.
