Job Description
Certified Coder
The patient relations liaison manages concerns and grievances from patients, their families, and other health care consumers. Intervenes in crisis situations and negotiates resolutions between conflicted parties. Uses mediation and negotiation skills to resolve conflicts, as well as creativity and problem-solving techniques. Draws attention to larger institutional concerns that need to be addressed through system changes or education/personal interventions. A bachelor''s degree in business, social work or another health care-related field is required; a master''s degree in business or social work is preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in a customer-service related position is required, as is strong communication skills (verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills. Proficiency in the use of computers and various applicable software is essential.
