This Plant Manager role focuses on overseeing plant operations, production performance, maintenance coordination, quality control, shipping, receiving, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and on-time delivery performance. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on leadership, manufacturing operations management, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration within industrial manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage day-to-day plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, shipping, and receiving
• Oversee manufacturing floor activities while maintaining efficient workflow, production output, and operational safety
• Monitor production schedules, inventory levels, and delivery commitments to ensure customer requirements are met
• Coordinate closely with production, maintenance, quality, and shipping teams to support operational efficiency
• Lead hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management initiatives for plant personnel
• Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives including 5S programs
• Monitor operational performance metrics and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
• Ensure accurate production reporting, inventory management, and raw material flow coordination
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliability
• Support quality assurance efforts to ensure products meet company and customer specifications
• Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and workplace safety initiatives
• Communicate operational updates, plant performance, and workforce needs to senior leadership
• Foster positive working relationships with employees, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Resolve operational issues related to staffing, production scheduling, equipment, or materials availability

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of glass manufacturing experience required
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or plant management experience within a manufacturing environment required
• Experience within custom manufacturing or glass manufacturing environments required
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization initiatives
• Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management, and operational workflow management
• Experience managing plant operations, workforce performance, and operational metrics preferred
• Strong leadership, employee development, coaching, and conflict resolution abilities
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP or manufacturing systems experience preferred
