The Student Affairs Intern will support the management and maintenance of student and institutional records with a strong emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality. You will operate out of the Student Services office to gain hands-on experience in student support services and administration. You will also collaborate with the entire Student Affairs department covering the entire enrollment process—from registration to transcript fulfillment. This intern position reports to the Director of Student Services, who may assign additional project-based work aligned with your learning goals and with departmental priorities.
What You’ll Invest In:
The Student Affairs Intern carries out these responsibilities:
- Assist with maintaining accurate and confidential records, processing registrations, withdrawals, transcript requests, and student information updates in compliance with policies.
- Serve as a point of contact for student inquiries, provide information about policies and procedures, and support students, parents, and staff with a variety of questions and issues.
- Establish internship goals, meet weekly with a supervisor to track progress, and gain practical experience aligned with learning objectives.
- Engage in weekly professional development sessions as part of the summer internship cohort, cultivating collaboration, strengthening skills, and encouraging continuous learning.
- Contribute to special projects with a service-oriented mindset.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree required. Junior or Senior status preferred.
- Successful completion of a background check and current and/or ability to obtain the following clearances: Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting.

This is a summer internship, full-time position. Portage Learning typically operates Mondays to Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Employee schedules may vary within those hours. All staff members must attend required meetings and training at the office in Chippewa Township, PA.

Travel:
This job may require travel outside of the office. Travel would be primarily local during the business day, which may entail one or more overnight stays. Travel on one or more days of a weekend may occur occasionally.
