National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) is the world’s largest association of Christian communicators, representing organizations reaching millions across traditional and digital media. NRB equips and supports its members through training, resources, and advocacy to ensure the Gospel is communicated freely and effectively. As a nonpartisan, international association, NRB promotes biblical truth, media excellence, and the defense of free speech across all forms of Christian media.

Our headquarters is located in Washington, D.C. near Capitol Hill, which keeps us closely engaged with Congress, the FCC, the courts, and the Executive Branch on issues affecting Christian media. We have a secondary office in Nashville, TN.

Position Summary:

The Member Acquisition Specialist plays a vital role in expanding the reach of the National Religious Broadcasters by building targeted prospect lists, cultivating meaningful relationships with potential members, and converting qualified prospects into active members. This position is responsible for executing proactive outreach strategies that align with NRB’s mission, while demonstrating Christian integrity and a genuine heart for service in every interaction.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, membership acquisition, fundraising, or business development, preferably in a nonprofit or association environment.
  • Strong relational and persuasion skills with a proven ability to build trust with prospects.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, and ability to work independently. Entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple prospects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for NRB Convention, industry events, and networking opportunities.
  • To perform all work with the highest professional, ethical, and moral standards, in compliance with all NRB internal policies and procedures.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in the broadcasting, media, faith-based, or nonprofit sector.
  • Familiarity with membership database software (Impexium/re:Members or similar).
  • Knowledge of the religious broadcasting or media ministry landscape.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting sales or conversion targets.

Requirements:

  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through on all prospect communications.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a service-oriented and team-player mindset.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with prospects, members, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook) and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines consistently.

Responsibilities:

Prospect Research & List Building

  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of targeted prospects (churches, ministries, broadcasters, and organizations) through research, data tools, and networking sources.
  • Continuously update and segment prospect lists to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Identify new lead sources and recommend outreach strategies to strengthen the recruitment pipeline.
  • Represent NRB at selected industry events and conferences to generate new prospects and build relationships.

Prospect Cultivation & Outreach

  • Execute proactive outreach campaigns via phone, email, video calls, and personalized correspondence to cultivate relationships with prospects.
  • Present NRB’s mission, value proposition, and membership benefits in a compelling and professional manner.
  • Schedule and conduct discovery calls and presentations with qualified prospects.

Conversion & Membership Process

  • Guide qualified prospects through the membership conversion process, providing clear information and responsive support.
  • Collaborate closely with the Member Enrollment Specialist to ensure smooth handoffs once a prospect is ready to apply for membership.
  • Track all prospect interactions and maintain accurate records in the membership database.

Convention & Member Event Execution

  • For several months during the year, dedicate primary effort to planning and executing member-focused convention events, including awards programs and related activities.
  • During this period, recruitment and sales activities will shift to a secondary priority to ensure high-quality event delivery and exceptional member experience.
  • Assist the broader Membership team with all member-related aspects of the annual NRB Convention, including on-site support and member events.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work collaboratively with the Member Services Specialist and Member Enrollment Specialist to support a positive new member experience.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Director of Membership on prospect pipeline activity, conversion rates, and recruitment progress.
  • Participate in team strategy sessions and contribute ideas for improving recruitment effectiveness and overall membership benefit.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Nashville, TN

Schedule: Monday to Friday
