Position Status: This position is contingent upon contract award and successful contract transition. Employment is also contingent upon the candidate's ability to satisfy all customer, contract, and security clearance requirements.

If awarded, this position is expected to be covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Compensation, benefits, and working conditions for covered positions will be administered in accordance with the applicable agreement and contract requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Quality Control Lead – Custodial and Landscape is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities related to custodial, janitorial, grounds maintenance, landscaping, pest management, and exterior appearance services. This position helps ensure all services are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, industry standards, environmental requirements, and customer expectations. The Quality Control Lead conducts inspections, evaluates performance, identifies opportunities for improvement, and works collaboratively with operations personnel to maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment across the facility.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead quality control and quality assurance activities for custodial, janitorial, landscaping, grounds maintenance, pest management, and related support services.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of interior and exterior facility areas to verify compliance with contract requirements and quality standards.
  • Evaluate cleanliness, appearance, safety, and maintenance conditions throughout the facility.
  • Review service schedules, inspection records, work orders, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify deficiencies, service gaps, and recurring issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with established custodial, landscaping, grounds maintenance, and pest management procedures.
  • Coordinate with operations and supervisory personnel to resolve quality concerns and improve service delivery.
  • Support customer inspections, audits, assessments, and performance reviews.
  • Prepare quality reports, inspection findings, trend analyses, and performance metrics.
  • Verify contract performance standards are consistently achieved across assigned service areas.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance facility appearance, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure quality control activities are conducted in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards, and organizational policies.
Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Environmental Services, Construction Management, Landscape Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience supporting facilities operations, custodial services, grounds maintenance, environmental services, or quality assurance programs.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience serving in a quality control, quality assurance, inspection, or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of custodial operations, grounds maintenance, landscaping, pest management, and facility appearance standards.
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits, assessments, and quality reviews within large commercial, institutional, industrial, or government facilities.
  • Ability to interpret contract requirements, service standards, inspection criteria, and operational procedures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting federal government facilities contracts.
  • Experience overseeing quality assurance programs for large campuses, training facilities, military installations, or institutional environments.
  • Professional certifications related to facilities management, quality assurance, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or environmental services.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Maximo.
  • Experience developing quality management plans, inspection programs, and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of integrated pest management practices, environmental compliance requirements, and sustainable grounds maintenance practices.
  • Experience supporting snow and ice management operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires frequent walking throughout indoor and outdoor facility environments to conduct inspections, audits, assessments, and quality reviews. Work is performed in office, custodial, grounds maintenance, warehouse, and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise levels, dust, cleaning chemicals, and operational activities. The incumbent must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and navigate large facilities and outdoor areas for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. The ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering designated work areas is required. Occasional evening, weekend, or extended work hours may be necessary to support operational requirements, inspections, emergency response activities, or contract needs.

Work may be performed in office, industrial, maintenance, warehouse, training, and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise levels, and operational activities. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The compensation range provided for this position is intended as a general guideline. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, certifications, geographic location, market conditions, and business needs, consistent with applicable laws and contract requirements.

Positions covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA), Davis-Bacon Act (DBA), Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), or other applicable contract requirements will be administered in accordance with those requirements. Compensation, benefits, and work rules for positions covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement will be governed by the applicable agreement.
