Tool & Die Repair Technician - 2026 in Medina, Ohio at SFS Group USA, Inc.

SFS Group USA, Inc. - Division Automotive is seeking a Tool and Die Repair Technician to join our manufacturing team in Medina, OH. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving precision tooling used in SFS cold forming production processes.

The Tool & Die Repair Technician plays a critical role in supporting production by ensuring tooling is maintained to high-quality standards, reducing downtime, improving tool life, and supporting reliable manufacturing processes for high precision automotive components.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with precision tooling, and the ability to work collaboratively with Cold Forming Machinists, Engineers, and Production teams who will thrive in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment while working in collaboration with our professional, supportive and passionate team! This is a full-time opportunity Monday thru Friday starting between $22-$28.

Tool and Die Repair Technician Qualifications:

Required:

· 1-3 years of tool, die, machining, or manufacturing experience preferred

· High school diploma or GED

· Ability to meet post offer testing requirements including background check, drug screen and the position's physical demand

· Ability to communicate effectively and to work independently and as part of a team.

. Strong mechanical aptitude.

. Ability to read and understand technical drawings

. Ability to perform precision measurements

Preferred:

· Prior experience working with carbide tooling a plus

. Tool and Die repair experience

. Cold forming tooling experience

. Manual machining experience

. Experience with precision grinding and finishing operations

Tool and Die Repair & Troubleshooting

· Troubleshoot and complete tool and die repairs as needed to maintain optimum production within the Cold Forming department

· Identified tooling issues, wear patterns, and failure causes.

. Repair, modify, and maintain cold forming tooling components.

. Support production by providing timely tooling repairs and solutions.

. Support production by providing timely tooling repairs and solutions.

. Collaborate with Cold Forming Machinist, Engineers, Maintenance, and Production teams.

. Support continuous improvement activities related to Tool lie, Process stability, Scrap reduction, Machine uptime.

· Set up and operate manual machining equipment including Manual lathes, Bridgeport kneemills, turning, grinding and honing equipment

. Perform precision machining and repair operations.

. Manufacture and modify tooling components according to specifications.

· Perform finishing operations such as microblasting, lapping, drilling and polishing

. Work with carbide tooling and other tool materials

. Maintain required precision and accuracy for automotive production tooling.

· Use metric system for all measurements

. Perform precision measurements using metric standards.

· Read micrometers, calipers and gauging pins to .005, precision inspection equipment.
