Description: HTI is assisting a global paper packaging manufacturer with their search for an experienced Manufacturing Electrician at their plant in Spartanburg, SC! The company offers excellent benefits, opportunities for growth and pay increases, and a positive, collaborative work culture.
- Hourly pay range: $34.00 - $35.00 / hour to start, depending on experience
- Location: Spartanburg, SC
- This is a direct hire, full-time position
- Working hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Requirements:
- Must have 5+ years of experience as an Electrician responsible for maintaining production machinery and PLC/controls systems in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a paper, packaging, or food production facility is strongly preferred
- Must have experience in a BRC, SQF, and/or HACCP (food safety) certified plant, or a manufacturing facility that is FDA regulated
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting, automation, PLC programming and instrumentation/controls
- Familiarity with food-grade manufacturing standards and compliance audits
- Strong diagnostic capabilities with high-speed processing and packaging equipment
- Strong computer skills, including CMMS, MRP/ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics
- Must have applicable technical degree and/or certification(s)
- Demonstrated planning, organization, and customer service skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Practical understanding of health and safety principles in industrial environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
- Local candidates strongly preferred
Job Duties:
- Provide daily preventative, troubleshooting, and breakdown maintenance service to plant production machinery and equipment
- Ensure assigned work is completed safely and in accordance with quality requirements, company policies and all food safety/regulatory requirements
- Provide immediate response to emergency work orders
- Identify potential equipment failure through regular inspections and monitoring, and initiate appropriate repairs or corrective actions
- Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimize manufacturing interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures
- Track all electrical maintenance activity and pending work, ensuring that all applicable Quality and Maintenance documentation and system records are completed correctly and in a timely fashion
- Identify and resolve equipment reliability and improvement opportunities
- Support production employees to optimize machine outputs, working closely with them to ensure that the plant can be operated safely with minimal downtime and waste
- When required, support the investigation of manufacturing non-conformances
- Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and assist in the development of job processes
- Ensure machines are returned to production status in a clean and operational condition; remove all tools and materials from machine area
- Act with a safety-first mindset, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety (H&S), ISO 9001:2015, GMP, and food safety standards (SQF, BRC, and HACCP)
- This role reports to the Maintenance Team Leader, and will regularly communicate and coordinate with the shift Maintenance Technician, the Production/Maintenance Manager, Machine Operators, and other plant team members
