Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Instructional Support & Coaching

- Provide ongoing support to teachers through classroom observations, modeling, co-teaching, and feedback.

- Assist teachers with planning and implementing standards-aligned lessons consistent with SCCCR standards and district curriculum resources.

- Support instructional best practices, differentiated instruction, student engagement techniques, and evidence-based teaching strategies.

Professional Development

- Design and deliver professional learning sessions aligned with school improvement goals and district initiatives.

- Facilitate PLCs focused on instructional planning, data analysis, assessment literacy, and curriculum implementation.

- Develop instructional resources, guides, and training materials to support teacher growth.

Data Analysis & School Improvement

- Analyze schoolwide data, including MAP, SC READY, EOCEP, and formative assessments, to identify trends and instructional needs.

- Guide teachers in developing data-driven instructional plans and targeted interventions.

- Support MTSS/RTI implementation, including progress monitoring and intervention planning.

- Assist in developing and monitoring the school’s instructional improvement plans.

Curriculum Implementation

- Support teachers in understanding and applying South Carolina standards, district pacing guides, and core instructional materials.

- Assist with curriculum mapping, unit development, and vertical/horizontal alignment.

- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent and effective curriculum delivery across classrooms and grade levels.

Collaboration & Communication

- Collaborate with administrators, interventionists, special education staff, counselors, and district instructional teams.

- Attend district- and state-sponsored training, professional learning events, and leadership meetings.

- Communicate instructional expectations, updates, and best practices clearly and professionally to staff.

- Support the implementation of accommodations and modifications for students receiving services under IDEA and Section 504.

Teacher Support & Mentoring

- Provide mentorship for new teachers, assisting with onboarding, curriculum orientation, planning, and classroom support.

- Support instructional technology integration and effective use of academic platforms.

- Assist teachers in developing strategies to support struggling learners and close achievement gaps.

- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor/administrator

Requirements:

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field preferred.

- Valid South Carolina teaching certificate.

- Minimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching experience.

- Strong understanding of SCCCR standards, curriculum frameworks, and instructional best practices.

- Experience analyzing assessment data and supporting data-driven instruction.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and district policies.

Preferred:

- Read to Succeed endorsement (Literacy Teacher or Coach endorsement), depending on district needs.

- Experience with MTSS, instructional technology platforms, and assessment tools such as MAP, CASE, and i-Ready.
