We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production & Site Manager to lead manufacturing operations, manage the welding and powder coating functions, and oversee site activities at our Fort Myers, Florida Pilot Production Facility, near RSW. This full-time position is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while driving operational excellence, team performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The annual salary is based upon skills, education/ and experience.
The ideal candidate will have strong production team leadership experience, a collaborative hands-on management style, and a proven ability to optimize production processes and manage the welding, inventory, and powder coating teams to achieve business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement Certification.
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems and operational budgeting.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and quality goals.
- Oversee all daily manufacturing / production including welding, inventory, and powder coating teams.
- Oversee site operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and custom orders are met.
- Interpret and understand technical drawings / blueprints.
- Be the Gatekeeper of the Pilot Production Location: Manage, schedule, and track facility maintenance programs and coordinate equipment repairs and upgrades.
- Assign and oversee team member schedules, duties, responsibilities, and ensure training is complete.
- Conduct, participate in, and document pre-shift and team meetings as well as regular 1:1’s.
- Interview, hire, evaluate, reward, coach and/or discipline assigned employees, as per regulatory standards and company policies, in a timely manner with applicable documentation.
- Evaluate existing procedures and standards and recommend improvements.
- Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Work Instructions, and other processes and procedures for all Pilot operational activities as needed or as requested by senior leadership.
- Lead, coach, train & develop, evaluate, and counsel Pilot production team members.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Develop and implement production schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, safety, labor, and cost control.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Oversee inventory management and material flow.
- Prepare production reports, forecasts, and budgets for senior leadership.
- Ensure adherence to quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a positive culture of safety, respect, accountability, teamwork, and engagement.
- Business Travel as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of industry experience, education, and training.
- Minimum of 5 years of production management experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or custom build environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing multi-functional teams, multiple departments, or a shift lead in a manufacturing, fabrication, custom build, or packaging environment.
- Must have strong knowledge of production planning and management, quality systems and safety standards, and overall site/plant operations in a manufacturing, fabrication, or custom build environment.
- Must have skills and experience to interpret and understand technical drawings / blueprints.
- Must have standard forklift experience and can obtain Merits standard forklift certification(s) within 60-days of position acceptance.
- Must have excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Must have proficiency and experience with ERP systems (such as Epicore or Oracle NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Products and be willing and able to quickly learn system applications as needed.

- Must read, speak, and write fluent English.
- Must have recent forklift experience and can obtain and maintain Merits’ standard forklift certification(s) within 60-days of position acceptance.
- Must have a valid US driver’s license in good standing and must maintain throughout employment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb/climb ladders, or balance; use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; frequently required to talk and hear. The employee is required to safely lift or move up to seventy-five (75) pounds. Employees must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time, in ambient climate temperatures to humid and hot.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment: The work environment is primarily in a warehousing and manufacturing / production operations environment where the employee needs to work near moving mechanical parts. In these environments, the noise levels may often be moderate to loud; ambient climate temperatures to humid and hot (depending on season), or can also be dry, dusty to moderately clean. Employees will be required to use and/or wear safety equipment / PPE, which will be provided to the employee by the company.
