Pike Medical Consultants (PMC) is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and clinically confident Nurse Practitioner to serve as the Provider at a client substance use disorder (SUD) recovery and detox facility in Albion, Indiana. This is a PMC employment position: you are hired and employed by PMC, and you work onsite at the client facility, practicing under a formal collaborative practice agreement with the PMC Medical Director and coordinating day to day with the facility's own clinical and counseling staff.

This role provides medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals in active detox and early recovery, including oversight of medication-assisted treatment where clinically appropriate and within the collaborative practice agreement. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, non-judgmental, comfortable practicing with real autonomy in a rural setting, and experienced or genuinely interested in addiction medicine. As with our other clinical placements, we're looking for someone who brings urgency and follow-through to daily work and can manage a full, fast-moving patient load.

Clinical Responsibilities
• Conduct patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations for individuals entering or receiving detox and recovery services
• Diagnose and develop treatment plans for substance use disorder and co-occurring medical conditions, consistent with the collaborative practice agreement with the PMC Medical Director
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory work relevant to detox and recovery care
• Prescribe medications, including medications for addiction treatment, within the scope of the collaborative practice agreement and applicable DEA/state controlled substance authority
• Monitor patients for withdrawal complications, medical instability, or emergencies, and direct the appropriate clinical response
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR), consistent with the additional confidentiality protections that apply to substance use disorder treatment records (see Qualifications and Reviewer Should Verify)
• Coordinate care with the facility's counseling, case management, and nursing staff, and communicate regularly with the PMC Medical Director per the collaborative practice agreement's chart review and consultation requirements
• Communicate with patients and, where appropriate, their families in a trauma-informed, respectful, and non-stigmatizing manner

Pace, Ownership & Practice Style
• Work efficiently and confidently in a fast-paced clinical environment, managing a full patient load without sacrificing quality or safety of care
• Exercise sound independent clinical judgment within the bounds of the collaborative practice agreement, escalating to the PMC Medical Director per that agreement's terms and whenever patient safety warrants it
• Take ownership of the clinical operation at this site, including supporting and directing supporting clinical staff (nursing, medical assistants) working at the facility
• Bring urgency, reliability, and follow-through to daily patient care and documentation

Teamwork & Facility Coordination
• Work collaboratively with PMC clinical leadership, the PMC Medical Director, and the client facility's nursing, counseling, and case management staff
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with patients, coworkers, and facility leadership
• Respond calmly and professionally to distressed, agitated, or clinically urgent patient situations
• Maintain Pike Medical Consultants' standard of Compassion, Devotion, and Respect in all interactions

Qualifications
• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Active, unrestricted Indiana APRN license
• National certification in an applicable Nurse Practitioner specialty (e.g., FNP, PMHNP, AGNP) required
• Active, unrestricted DEA registration, or ability to obtain one prior to start
• Willingness and eligibility to enter into a written collaborative practice agreement with the PMC Medical Director, as required for NP prescriptive authority under Indiana law
• Experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment strongly preferred; willingness to train and be mentored into this specialty considered for strong candidates
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• Comfortable working with individuals in active substance use recovery in a non-judgmental, trauma-informed manner
• Ability to practice with sound clinical judgment and appropriate autonomy in a rural, single-provider or limited-provider setting
• Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality, including the heightened protections that apply to SUD treatment records
• Comfortable working in an environment with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious illnesses
