Job Purpose:
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and service-oriented Door Person to join our hospitality team. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming first impression for guests by providing exceptional customer service, managing traffic flow and parking areas, and offering helpful information about hotel services and local attractions.
The ideal candidate is energetic, attentive, and committed to delivering outstanding hospitality while maintaining the highest standards of guest service.
- Serve as the first point of contact for guests, creating a positive and welcoming arrival experience.
- Welcome guests, visitors, vendors, and clients with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- Open doors and assist guests entering and exiting the hotel when appropriate.
- Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance with directions, luggage, transportation, and hotel amenities.
- Provide accurate information regarding hotel services, dining options, meeting spaces, local attractions, and transportation.
- Monitor entrance areas to ensure they remain clean, organized, safe, and inviting at all times.
- Assist with managing guest flow during peak arrival and departure periods.
- Coordinate with Front Desk, Bell Services, Valet, and Concierge teams to ensure seamless guest service.
- Recognize returning guests and VIPs whenever possible and ensure they receive prompt attention.
- Maintain a visible presence in the lobby and entrance areas to assist guests and respond to inquiries promptly.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Uphold the hotel's service standards by providing a consistently positive and memorable first and last impression.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School diploma /Secondary qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards.
This job requires the ability to perform the following:
- Must be able to communicate verbally and understand and follow verbal instruction.
- Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems.
Other:
- Being passionate about people and service.
- Strong communication skills are essential when interacting with guests and employees.
- Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/ information updates, etc.
- Basic math skills are used frequently when handling cash or credit.
- Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities are often used.
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays.
