Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Surgical Team Development Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the quality and safety of surgical care through the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff education and competency programs across Surgical Services. This role supports onboarding, competency validation, and continuing education for clinical staff while ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. The coordinator functions in a working clinical role to remain current with workflows, routines, and operational challenges in Pre-Operative, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Intra-op and Post-Procedure/Discharge areas, ensuring education and process improvements are practical, relevant, and evidence based.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree in Nursing
- State of Alaska RN License
- BLSP (CPR), ACLS, & PALS from the American Heart Association
- Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) required within 2 years of employment
- Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) required within 2 years of employment
- Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) required within 2 years of employment
