Position Summary:

The LVN/GVN assists the physician and mid-level practitioners in providing quality
care as delegated. This individual is also cross trained to assist in clerical tasks,
waived testing and phlebotomy/ venipuncture.

Qualifications:

A. Education: Currently licensed as a Vocational Nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas OR hold a current Texas permit.

B. Training and Experience:

1. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within ninety (90) days of hire required upon hire or transfer to the department

2. Minimum of six (6) months’ experience working as an LVN preferred; one year of experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.

3. Bilingual abilities are desirable but not mandatory.

4. EKG and Cardiac Rhythms knowledge

5. Mental Health First Aid-Suicide Awareness Training
