This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys building strong
teams, improving processes, and creating an exceptional experience for both clients
and patients. As a newly established practice, Cowtown is seeking a leader who is
equally comfortable guiding the team and working alongside them. During the first
6–12 months, this role will require a strong presence in daily operations, actively
supporting patient flow, client service, team development, and the establishment of
efficient, sustainable workflows.
We're looking for someone who leads by example, takes ownership, and knows how
to balance operational efficiency with compassionate veterinary care.
What You’ll Do
● Lead from the floor during the hospital's foundational growth phase, working
alongside team members to support daily operations, reinforce standards,
identify opportunities for improvement, and provide real-time coaching.
● Lead, coach, and develop team members while fostering accountability,
collaboration, and professional growth.
● Manage employee scheduling, staffing levels, attendance, and labor efficiency.
● Partner with medical leadership to support efficient surgical scheduling,
patient flow, and quality care.
● Monitor key operational and financial performance indicators, identifying
opportunities to improve efficiency and control expenses.
● Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and vendor relationships to
ensure appropriate supplies and cost control.
● Support recruiting, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and
employee development.
● Address client concerns professionally and proactively, maintaining a high
standard of service.
● Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and applicable
regulatory requirements.
● Collaborate with regional leadership to implement operational improvements
and support hospital growth.
What We're Looking For
● Previous leadership or management experience in a veterinary hospital or
similar animal care environment.
● Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
● Experience with employee scheduling, coaching, and performance
management.
● Understanding of veterinary hospital operations, inventory management, and
financial performance.
● Ability to prioritize effectively and remain composed in a fast-paced
environment.
● A proactive, solutions-oriented leadership style with a strong sense of
ownership and accountability.
● A hands-on, approachable leader who leads by example, is willing to work
alongside the team, and can balance immediate operational needs with long-
term leadership responsibilities.
● Experience in high-volume spay/neuter, veterinary surgery, shelter medicine,
or general practice is preferred.
