Job Description

Tech Lead I Cartes

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Tech Lead I Cartões in Brazil.

This role places you at the center of critical decision-making for a high-impact credit card ecosystem, where engineering excellence meets financial innovation. You will act as a key technical reference between business, architecture, and engineering, guiding complex initiatives from design to production. The position involves shaping scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions within a regulated financial environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including architecture, data, security, and product management. With strong ownership over technical direction, you will help define standards, improve system resilience, and drive continuous innovation. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends coding, architecture, mentoring, and strategic influence. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and focused on delivering robust financial products at scale.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead the technical direction of the credit card engineering team, ensuring best practices in software development, architecture, and code quality are consistently applied across projects. You will support product managers in assessing the impact of new features and system changes, while actively collaborating with DevOps teams during deployments. You will also play a key role in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, ensuring minimal impact on end users. Additionally, you will contribute to the evolution of AWS-based architectures, design scalable systems using TypeScript and Node.js, and ensure robust performance across distributed environments. Your responsibilities will include optimizing delivery timelines, maintaining technical documentation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will also mentor engineers, facilitate cross-team communication, and support strategic discussions involving product and engineering trade-offs.

  • Lead technical execution for the credit card domain, ensuring engineering excellence and scalability
  • Collaborate with product teams to evaluate impact and feasibility of new features
  • Support deployments alongside DevOps and ensure reliable release processes
  • Investigate and resolve production issues affecting system performance and users
  • Design and evolve AWS-based cloud-native architectures and distributed systems
  • Ensure high-quality development using TypeScript, Node.js, and modern engineering practices
  • Manage delivery planning, technical documentation, and cross-team alignment
  • Mentor engineers and strengthen technical culture across the team
Requirements

You bring strong experience in software engineering and system architecture, with a solid background in designing and delivering scalable distributed systems. You have hands-on expertise with TypeScript and Node.js in production environments, along with deep familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native architectures. Your experience includes working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Aurora, and you are comfortable applying software design principles and architectural patterns. You possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to bridge technical and business perspectives effectively. A proactive mindset, analytical thinking, and focus on results are essential for success in this role. Experience with AI-driven development tools and modern engineering practices is highly valued, along with the ability to mentor teams and guide technical decision-making.

  • Degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • Strong experience in system architecture and distributed systems
  • Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js in production
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns
  • Experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Aurora databases
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical, proactive, and results-oriented mindset
  • Experience or strong interest in AI-assisted development tools
Benefits
