This role is designed for a highly skilled Excel financial modeler who can build complex, decision-driving models entirely from scratch.
You will work on advanced financial modeling tasks supporting AI systems that learn how professionals structure assumptions, cash flows, and investment decisions.
The position requires deep hands-on modeling ability across areas such as credit, private equity, structured finance, and risk analysis.
You will be responsible for constructing, validating, and explaining full financial models with clarity and precision.
This is a flexible, asynchronous contract role offering meaningful exposure to cutting-edge AI-driven financial applications.
You will collaborate in a highly analytical environment where accuracy, logic, and financial rigor are essential.
Your work will directly contribute to improving how AI systems understand and replicate real-world financial decision-making.
- Build end-to-end financial models from scratch in Excel, including assumptions, drivers, cash flows, debt structures, and returns analysis.
- Develop and structure models across credit, private equity (LBO), structured finance, or risk and portfolio scenarios depending on project needs.
- Analyze and link financial components such as cash flow dynamics, leverage, valuation, and scenario outcomes.
- Debug and review existing models, identifying logic errors, incorrect assumptions, and structural weaknesses.
- Clearly explain financial modeling logic, methodologies, and decision outcomes in a structured and transparent way.
- Translate real-world financial decision-making processes into robust, scalable Excel-based models.
- 2–10 years of experience in finance roles with strong, hands-on financial modeling exposure.
- Proven ability to build full financial models from a blank Excel spreadsheet (no reliance on templates or automated tools).
- Strong experience in at least one core area: LBO modeling, credit and lending models, or corporate/project finance modeling.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, valuation logic, cash flow mechanics, and investment decision frameworks.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate and explain complex financial structures in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience in investment banking, private equity, credit, corporate finance, or similar modeling-intensive roles is highly preferred.
- Competitive contract compensation based on experience and scope of work.
- Flexible, asynchronous working schedule (15–40 hours per week).
- Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI systems in financial modeling and decision intelligence.
- Exposure to advanced modeling challenges across multiple financial domains.
- Paid take-home modeling exercise for candidates who successfully complete the hiring process.
- Remote work flexibility.
- High-impact role working on real-world financial logic used to train AI systems.
