Job Description
Project Manager
The project estimator is to support the Transmission Program Management team in planning and executing multipole high voltage transmission projects.
The project estimator is accountable for coordinating the delivery of assigned projects and supporting a team of Project Managers in the delivery of all aspects of a project from inception through to close out, including cost and schedule monitoring, scheduling crews, contract management HSE, reporting, quality management coordinating regulatory deliverables and records managements.
Develop conceptual, preliminary, and details cost estimates for transmission projects, including overhead and underground lines, substations, and asset replacement or upgrade programs.
Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, standards. and scopes of work to support estimate development.
Complete detailed quantity take-offs and determine labour, equipment and material requirements.
Maintain estimating databases, cost models, and estimating documentation
Prepare basic of estimate documentation, including inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions
Education, experience and / or credentials
Diploma or degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, construction management , or a related discipline
5 + years experience in estimating in construction, electric transmission, power utilities, or heavy civil infrastructure
