Park Landscaping Ltd. is seeking 10 full-time, permanent Field Supervisors to join our team on a year-round basis.
Park Landscaping is a landscaping and construction company providing services in the design, construction, and maintenance of residential and commercial exterior projects. Our large-scale construction work includes storm ponds, soil cell storm water systems, boulevards, and other infrastructure. We also specialize in paving stone patios, decks, retaining walls, swimming pools, fences, water features, and synthetic turf solutions. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Edmonton, Alberta. Our shop and yard are located at 20924, 100 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5T 5X8, and travel to job sites throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas is required.
Job Duties
As a Field Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following:
Field Leadership & Crew Oversight
Supervise, coordinate, and schedule activities of construction crews engaged in hardscape and infrastructure construction projects, including concrete, paving stone, retaining wall, and pool installation work
Set clear expectations for productivity, workmanship, safety, and site standards
Provide coaching, training, and performance management to Foremen and Lead Hands
Support hiring, onboarding, and development of field staff
Address performance issues, crew conflicts, and resource gaps
Foster a culture of accountability, execution, and continuous improvement
Project Execution & Multi-Site Coordination
Oversee execution of projects in accordance with drawings, specifications, budgets, and timelines
Ensure proper sequencing of work across multiple scopes (e.g., grading, base, hardscape, construction/installation, finishing)
Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors across sites
Participate in project start-ups, layout verification, and key milestone reviews
Identify risks to schedule, budget, or constructability and escalate appropriately
Ensure alignment between field execution and project plans
Quality Control & Project Delivery
Conduct regular site inspections across all active projects
Ensure consistent quality of installation across all scopes of work
Identify deficiencies and ensure timely corrective action
Verify projects meet company standards and are prepared for client or municipal inspections
Drive consistency in finishes, detailing, and overall project presentation
Technical Construction Oversight
Oversee Pool, Pond, Synthetic Turf, Fence & Deck installation
Oversee site layout, elevations, and drainage and irrigation considerations
Oversee equipment operation and proper construction techniques
Equipment, Materials & Resource Management
Manage on-site materials, deliveries, and inventory
Ensure crews are properly equipped for each phase of work
Ensure proper operation of equipment (e.g., skid steers, mini-excavators, compactors)
Monitor equipment condition and coordinate maintenance or repairs
Enforce proper handling and accountability of tools and assets
Safety & Compliance
Enforce compliance with company policies, OH&S legislation, and safe work practices
Conduct site safety inspections and hazard assessments
Lead toolbox meetings and support incident investigations as required
Ensure proper PPE use and safe equipment operation at all times
Promote a proactive safety culture across all crews
Administration & Reporting
Complete and review daily reports, timesheets, and site documentation
Track labour hours, productivity, and job progress
Utilize systems (e.g., Aspire, SiteDocs) for reporting and compliance
Provide updates on field performance, risks, and resource needs
Field–Office Coordination & Liaison
Act as the primary liaison between field crews and Project Managers
Translate project scope and plans into clear execution direction
Communicate real-time site conditions, delays, and changes
Support estimating and project teams by identifying opportunities or risks
General
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills Required
If you possess the following skills, you will be a great fit as a Field Supervisor:
Completion of secondary school
Post-secondary education in landscaping, construction, or related field is an asset
Minimum of 3 years supervisory or foreman experience in construction environments including technical and functional experience with construction site execution, plan and grade interpretation, resource and crew coordination, quality control, and safety compliance with the ability to assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure work is completed to required standards and timelines
Proven ability to supervise, coordinate, and schedule the work of multiple parties in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to read and interpret project drawings, plans, and specifications
Experience operating construction equipment
Experience planning and organizing labour, materials, and equipment for construction projects
Knowledge of health and safety standards and ability to enforce safe work practices on job sites
Experience training and mentoring employees in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records, including work logs, safety documentation, and project updates
Effective English communication skills (oral and written) to coordinate with crews, management, and subcontractors
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence, clean driver’s abstract, and ability to operate work vehicles and transport equipment
Class 3 with air brakes is an asset
Standard First Aid and WHMIS (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labour as required
Wages and Hours
Wages as a Field Supervisor are $37.00 per hour for 37 hours per week. Overtime hours will be banked and managed in accordance with a formal overtime agreement established with Park Landscaping. After a 3-month probationary period, you will be entitled to group benefits including extended health and dental. After 1-year of employment, you will qualify for our RRSP contribution program.
