Position: Vice President – Luxury Leisure & Business Travel Sales

Position Summary

The Vice President, Luxury Leisure & Business Travel Sales is responsible for supporting the overall strategy, productivity, growth, and achievement of sales goals for the Leisure Division. This role combines team leadership with hands-on commercial engagement, with a focus on strengthening Member hotel performance, developing new Member opportunities, and helping the sales team grow and deepen client relationships. The primary focus of the VP will include the following:

  • Support the strategy, continued development, and structure of the Leisure Division, including driving new Member enrollment and regular engagement with current Members to strengthen performance, value and retention.
  • Lead, support, coach, and develop GSO team members, including account strategy, prospecting, client development, and conversion of opportunities.
  • Support the SVP with Member hotel development, Member engagement, and strategic client relationships to drive growth and long-term value.
  • Foster collaboration with Regional Vice Presidents to identify opportunities, connect relationships, and drive incremental revenue across Luxury Leisure & Business Travel and ALHI’s broader business segments.

The role will include coaching, account strategy, customer engagement, Member development, and hands-on support where it can accelerate results.

The Vice President – Luxury Leisure & Business Travel Sales is a remote position and will report directly to the SVP, Member Strategy & Development.

The Vice President, Luxury Leisure & Business Travel Sales will possess a strong general business acumen and be self-motivated with an outstanding work ethic. This individual must be a strategic thinker with excellent tactical sales skills and an exceptional, patient, and thoughtful leadership style. The Vice President, Luxury Leisure & Business Travel Sales must demonstrate superior verbal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to present sales recommendations and excellent phone etiquette. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to cultivate a strong team environment by inspiring and motivating the sales team with a strong sense of urgency, energy, and enthusiasm. This individual must be able to lead by example, successfully manage interpersonal relations and communicate clearly to effectively build support across all levels of the organization. A proven ability to use sound and accurate judgment when making decisions is necessary.

The Vice President, Luxury Leisure & Business Travel Sales will effectively manage multiple ongoing projects and remain organized. It is imperative that the Vice President, Luxury & Leisure Sales possesses an exemplary record of ethical behavior, vigorous interest in industry relations, and a strong commitment to brand standards.

Experience

The Vice President, Luxury Leisure & Business Travel Sales will have a minimum of 10 years of hospitality sales experience in a luxury environment, including a minimum of five (5) years managing a team or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will have direct leadership experience across transient sales segments, with a strong understanding of the transient landscape, key accounts, partners, and distribution channels. Experience working across multiple hotel brands and/or management companies, as well as global sales experience, is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Oversee division and individual goal production and provide ongoing account reviews, strategic account action plans, and support to accelerate sales performance.
  • Execute division and company sales strategies in collaboration with leadership, with a focus on growing leisure and business travel demand for Member hotels.
  • Partner closely with Regional Vice Presidents (RVP’s) to identify opportunities, leverage relationships, and drive incremental revenue across both Luxury Leisure & Business Travel and ALHI’s broader business segments.
  • Coach and develop the sales team, including client development, prospecting, account strategy, relationship expansion, and identification of opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and implement training, development plans, sales tools, guidelines, and resources that strengthen team productivity, commercial effectiveness, and morale.
  • Track and analyze division expenses, events, programs, and process costs.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop territories, sales goals, priorities, and short- and long-term growth strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, customer needs, and best practices to identify opportunities for both Member and client growth.
  • Ensures compliance with industry and legal regulations and best practices, and adherence to company processes and procedures.
  • Work to further the reputation and image of ALHI in the market while proactively identifying and supporting qualified new Member hotel opportunities.
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards of sales service as well as the ALHI Professional.
  • Fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment for team members.
  • Maintain involvement with professional organizations Site, MPI, PCMA, etc. to advance visibility of ALHI.
  • Ensure team members maintain strong business acumen and product knowledge of ALHI Member properties and can effectively position Members with the right clients and opportunities.
  • Partner with the SVP and cross-functional teams to support Member development efforts, including prospect strategy, value positioning, proposals, and engagement with hotel ownership, management companies, brands, and property leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the SVP, Member Strategy & Development not limited to the above.
