This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Solution Architect (TMS) based in United States.
As a Solution Architect, you will serve as the lead functional consultant for transportation management system implementations supporting major enterprise customers across the Americas.
You will translate complex business requirements into scalable, best-in-class transportation solutions while balancing scope, timelines, technical constraints, and customer value.
The role sits at the intersection of supply chain strategy, software configuration, business analysis, and customer engagement.
You will collaborate closely with customer stakeholders, project managers, technical consultants, and third-party partners throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Your work will span solution design, integration, testing, deployment, optimization, and transition to ongoing operations.
You will also identify opportunities for enhanced functionality and additional customer value while staying current with emerging transportation technology.

- Lead the functional design, optimization, configuration, and implementation of transportation management solutions for large enterprise customers.
- Analyze customer business processes and requirements to determine how transportation management capabilities can be configured and delivered effectively.
- Serve as the primary functional liaison between customer stakeholders, project managers, technical consultants, third-party consultants, and other project participants.
- Lead solution design activities, ensuring requirements, solution constructs, validation activities, and implementation timelines are clearly defined.
- Apply transportation and supply chain domain expertise to develop solutions aligned with industry best practices and customer objectives.
- Guide or conduct system integration, user acceptance testing, deployment, and transition activities to support a smooth move into steady-state operations.
- Balance project scope, timelines, requirements, technical constraints, and customer expectations to accelerate time to value and maximize satisfaction.
- Evaluate requirements that fall outside standard functionality or project scope, considering integration complexity, architecture constraints, and product roadmaps.
- Identify potential opportunities for additional solutions, services, or functionality that can generate incremental value for existing customers.
- Communicate customer-specific business cases and product functionality or enhancement requirements to relevant product and program stakeholders.
- Support ongoing operations by assisting support teams with customer cases when not actively assigned to implementation projects.
- Work with APIs and integration technologies including SOAP, REST, XML, and JSON, while developing familiarity with basic SQL and reporting requirements.
- Prepare, validate, and interpret reports and project data to support solution design, testing, and customer decision-making.
- Travel approximately 50%–75% within the United States to support customer engagements and project delivery.
- At least 5 years of experience working with transportation management systems, preferably with direct experience implementing or using enterprise TMS solutions.
- Experience with leading transportation management platforms such as IBM Logistics & Supply Chain, Oracle Transportation Management, SAP, Manhattan, E2Open, o9 Solutions, or comparable technologies may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in solutions consulting, software implementation, business analysis, or supply chain technology.
- Proven experience in customer-facing roles involving requirements gathering, solution design, stakeholder persuasion, and implementation leadership.
- Experience within a management consulting organization or supply chain center is preferred.
- Strong business analysis capabilities, including an understanding of supply chain processes, statistical concepts, inventory optimization, and tactical planning.
- Ability to prepare and deliver clear presentations to user, management, and executive-level audiences.
- Basic Excel proficiency, including data cleansing and pivot tables.
- Familiarity with APIs, SOAP/REST, XML, and JSON.
- Ability or willingness to learn and execute simple SQL queries.
- Strong communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across customer, technical, project, and third-party teams.
- Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Operations Research, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A bachelor's degree combined with relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
- Depending on project requirements, ability to qualify for a public trust security clearance and complete applicable background checks, drug testing, fingerprinting, and identity verification may be required.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the United States, approximately 50%–75%, is required.
- Base salary range of $120,000–$130,000 USD, plus eligibility for a bonus component.
