Job Description

Are you passionate about creating delicious, nutritious meals and fostering a sense of community? Lund’s Food Services department seeks a Food Services Specialist to help us deliver thoughtful, nutritious meals to clients, staff, and guests in an inclusive and welcoming environment at our Residential and Treatment Center.

As a Food Services Specialist, together with the Food Services Coordinator, this position will assist in planning and preparing nourishing meals and snacks for clients, staff, and guests throughout the year. This position provides opportunities to engage with clients, and support catering inclusive meals during the holidays, events, and celebrations. The Food Service Specialist has shared responsibilities and assists with meal planning, waste control, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. This role works as a team with other Food Service Specialists and community members, including clients, administrators, and coordinators, to build an inclusive, welcoming, and healthy environment for everyone.

Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Work with Food Services Coordinator to plan and prepare nutritious, creative, and economical meals and snacks for clients, staff and guests including alternative meal options based on identified dietary preferences and needs.
  • Monitor residents in the kitchen at all times to ensure safety.
  • Comply with all licensing and health department regulations and maintain all records required in this area.
  • Communicate regularly with shift supervisors and residential counseling staff regarding kitchen, dining room, meal times, and resident food needs.

This is a part-time, in-person, 24-hour per week position at our facility in Burlington. The rate of pay for this position is $22/hr. For the full job description, click here.

What You Will Bring:
  • Strong practical experience in the areas of food service delivery, record-keeping,
  • Self-motivated and creative thinker with good organizational ability.
  • Ability to interact well with both staff and residents.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, deadlines and demands.
  • Ability to work occasional irregular hours to meet the needs of a 24-hour facility.
  • Ability to receive and store large bulk food orders, including ability to lift up to 50 pounds and lift items overhead for proper storage.
  • Ability to abide by all food and personal safety regulations.
  • Ability to maintain access to reliable transportation. Occasional statewide travel may be required.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate Lund’s values of collaboration, compassion, empathy, integrity, and respect.
