| Position Summary: | The University of Dayton, Campus Recreation Department seeks a self-motivated, enthusiastic and proactive professional who is committed to a development philosophy for staff and participants in the provision of a comprehensive, inclusive and quality Intramural Sports program for the UD community, of which over 50% of undergraduate students participate with over 1,600 teams annually. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position offering health and dental, retirement, paid time off, holidays, and tuition assistance. Apply today! In tandem with the assistant director, outdoor recreation and camp, this professional will lead and supervise a nine-week youth recreation summer camp program designed to inspire campers to discover their best selves through playful inquiry, cooperative learning and positive group culture. This individual has responsibilities that encompass a wide variety of administrative, supervisory, programming, planning, developing, coordinating, assessment and oversight of all aspects of the intramural/extramural and camp programs. With a variety of team and individual leagues and tournaments this position will provide support and facilitate the overall success of the programs to include day-to-day operation and long-term objectives. The duties include, but are not limited to, knowledge of recreation, Intramural and competitive sports including devising and refining rules, programming and calendar development, administration of contests and game management, creation of developmentally appropriate curriculum, parent/guardian engagement, implementation of policies and procedures including fiscal management and risk mitigation, promotion of programs, and the creation of an innovative and engaging environment to drive participant retention. Further, the assistant director of intramural sports and camp is expected to display a commitment to understand and support the University of Dayton's distinctive Marianist tradition and educational vision, as well as a willingness to model institutional values of service to others, community, and diversity.
