Position: Senior AV VTC Support Engineer

Summary

We are a seeking a Senior AV VTC Support Engineer who enjoys working in high-visibility environments where precision, reliability, and calm technical confidence truly matter. In this role, you’ll be the force behind secure communication across the customer’s classified and unclassified networks by connecting leaders, analysts, and mission partners across the DoD, the Army, and allied nations around the world. You’ll work hands-on with enterprise-grade VTC systems, crypto devices, collaborative tools, and conferencing infrastructure, ensuring every connection is clear, stable, and mission-ready. Capabilities

  • Provide daily VTC support for 21 classified and unclassified Cisco/Tandberg systems, ensuring all equipment is fully operational through daily checks and monitoring.
  • Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance with the VTC maintenance provider on a bi-monthly basis to maintain system reliability and performance.
  • Facilitate classified and unclassified VTC sessions, coordinating internal and external connectivity across DoD, Army, and global allied locations using DISA’s Global Video Services (GVS).
  • Complete required GVS facilitator training and coordinate with distant-end facilitators to schedule and conduct pre-tests for all VTC events.
  • Schedule VTCs using the customer’s Multipoint Conferencing Unit (MCU), DISA GVS, or direct MCU-to-MCU connections, depending on mission requirements and far-end capabilities.
  • Conduct pre-tests for all MCU-hosted sessions, including recurring bi-weekly operational VTCs with forward-deployed analysts and allied partners, ensuring all participants can connect successfully.
  • Provide real-time Tier I/II technical support during active VTC sessions, monitoring all connections and resolving issues such as audio loss, video distortion, bandwidth degradation, or dropped connections.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting sessions with remote sites experiencing difficulty connecting to the customer MCU, scheduling test windows and working collaboratively to resolve issues.
  • Support a wide range of A/V and secure communication equipment, including CODECs, Polycom MGC systems, routers, switchers, crypto devices (KIV-19, KIV-7, Taclane), and other audio/video components.
  • Complete required COMSEC training and properly handle crypto keys associated with supported devices.
  • Provide SME support for SIPR/NIPR collaborative tools, including Defense Connect Online (DCO), troubleshooting network, server, and platform issues in coordination with DCO helpdesk staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve VTC panel malfunctions, coordinating with the VTC vendor when programming support is required.
  • Perform operations and maintenance on all VTC audio/video equipment in conference rooms and control rooms, conducting daily connectivity tests to ensure full operability.
  • Maintain a proactive, customer-focused approach, ensuring high-visibility VTC events run smoothly and mission partners receive timely, expert support.

Education, Certifications, and Training

  • Certification aligned to an IAT-III Network Administration specialized role required, such as: CISSP, CCNP, CCDE, CCDP, CCIE, CCPN Security, CySA+, CISM, or other DoD approved IAT-III equivalents
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant network administration and/or VTC experience preferred

This position is offered with a salary range of $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually, based on experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and contract labor category requirements.
