PURPOSE:

Position Description
Position Summary
Assists the Project Manager and Project Superintendent with a variety of project, managerial, and administrative functions on construction projects.
Essential Functions
- Field Support
- Works at a specific job site, multiple sites, or in the office to provide field, technical and administrative support to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent.
- Serves as the secondary point of contact with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Produces and tracks contracts with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
- Ensures safety is an everyday topic and supersedes all other factors to prevent accidents and create a safe working environment for everyone.
- Project Technical Support
- Assists with bidding including conducting material take-offs and soliciting quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collects and tracks RFI’s and submittals.
- Assists with building and updating project schedules.
- Maintains and distributes current project plans and specifications; Reviews shop drawings and submittals.
- Prepares and coordinates change orders.
- Project Administrative Support
- Ensures communication is clear among all parties, including composing and preparing correspondence.
- Collects and processes purchase orders. Assists in the ordering of materials and supplies.
- Assists with permitting issues, as necessary.
- Schedules jobsite meetings and records/maintains minutes for meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of the construction industry, specifically commercial and industrial general contracting.
- Ability to maintain a good attendance record.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word).
- Demonstrated competency in scheduling (Phoenix) and PDF mark-up (BlueBeam) software.
- Ability to work effectively in ERP system software (Viewpoint).
Position Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering or closely related is required, equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 2 to 3 years of project engineering experience on commercial or industrial projects.
- Demonstrated competency in Project Engineer duties.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Compensation - $75,000 to $95,000 annual salary.
- Annual Bonus; depends upon individual and company performance.
