Role Overview
The Membership Sales Associate is the front line of membership growth at Ballers Philadelphia. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, this role owns the day-to-day work of filling the club: sourcing and following up on leads, giving tours that sell the Ballers experience, closing new memberships, and keeping current members engaged and renewing.
Success requires strong communication and relationship-building skills, disciplined follow-up, a genuine passion for sports and community, and the drive to hit and beat monthly goals in a fast-paced club environment.
Here’s what your day-to-day will look like
Drive new membership sales at Ballers Philadelphia by prospecting, responding to inbound leads, and converting tours and trials into members.
Conduct club tours, trial sessions, and sales presentations that showcase Ballers’ facilities, programming, and value proposition.
Respond promptly to inbound inquiries — phone, email, web forms, and walk-ins — and follow up consistently until the sale is won or closed out.
Build and work an outbound pipeline through local outreach, league and program play, community events, and member referrals.
Maintain an active, accurate pipeline in the CRM: log every lead, activity, and next step, and keep records current daily.
Present membership options, pricing, and promotions accurately; complete agreements and process new member paperwork.
Support new member onboarding — introductions to staff, programming, and court booking — so members find value early and stay.
Run retention outreach: member check-ins, at-risk follow-up, renewal conversations, and cancellation saves.
Generate referrals and member-guest opportunities through relationship building on the club floor.
Represent Ballers at member events, open houses, leagues, and community or local business outreach.
Partner with front desk, racquet programming, food and beverage, and operations teams so the sales promise matches the member experience.
Pass event, corporate, and sponsorship leads to the Director of Sales with clear notes, context, and timely handoff.
Report weekly on sales activity, conversion rates, and pipeline health.
Share member feedback and market observations with the Director of Sales to inform pricing, promotions, and programming.
Follow membership sales Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contribute ideas to improve them.
Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
1–2 years of sales, membership, hospitality, fitness, or customer-facing experience.
Track record of meeting goals and targets in a metrics-driven environment.
Comfortable making outbound calls, following up persistently, and asking for the sale.
Strong communication and presentation skills; confident leading tours and speaking with prospects one-on-one.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the discipline to keep CRM records accurate and current. CRM experience is a plus.
Coachable and eager to learn, with an openness to feedback and sales training from the Director of Sales.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; familiarity with club management, booking, or POS systems is a plus.
Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends aligned with peak club hours, events, and client activity.
Passion for sports, hospitality, and building community-driven environments. Knowledge of pickleball, padel, golf, squash, or tennis is a plus.
What’s in it for you
Competitive base salary plus commission on membership sales
A good paycheck and benefits
A fun, exciting workplace with passionate colleagues
You get to be around fitness, wellness, sports, and people who love to play
Sweet employee discounts on our services and food
Hands-on coaching from the Director of Sales and a path to grow into senior sales roles as Ballers expands
