Senior Director, Property Partnerships

*This is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Seattle area, with at least one day per week in our Seattle office.

Housing Connector is a tech-for-good nonprofit transforming how communities use the private housing market to address homelessness. We partner with property owners and managers to reduce barriers that prevent people from accessing housing, while providing the financial protections and resident support that give housing providers confidence to open more homes to people who need them.

Our model brings together property partners, community organizations, government, philanthropy, and technology to create simpler, more scalable pathways to housing. What started in Seattle in 2019 has grown into a multi-market organization with an ambitious vision: to deliver simple and scalable solutions until every person has a home.

Position Overview

The Sr Director of Property Partnerships leads Housing Connector’s property acquisition function nationally. This is a player / coach role focused both on establishing and growing partnerships and people-leadership; accountable for the strategy, performance, development, and territory coverage of the Strategic Partnerships team.

The Senior Director sets the national growth strategy and translates organizational targets into territory plans. They build a repeatable process for identifying and engaging prospective property partners, creating pipeline, and moving opportunities through negotiation and activation. They coach the team through complex deals, personally lead select strategic and multi-market opportunities, and ensure effective handoffs to Market and Partner Success teams.

Core Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly manage, coach, and develop the Strategic Partnerships team.
  • Set individual and territory growth targets and hold the team accountable to measurable outcomes.
  • Run consistent 1:1s, pipeline reviews, deal reviews, and performance conversations.
  • Hire, onboard, and ramp new team members as territory coverage expands.
  • Build clear career pathing between levels and identify readiness for promotion.
  • Model the relationship-building and consultative selling standard expected of the team.

Growth Strategy & Execution

  • Define Housing Connector’s value proposition to partners, and build supporting sales strategy.
  • Own national net-new property supply targets and allocate them across territories and team members.
  • Build and lead a proactive prospecting strategy that generates qualified opportunities across existing and new markets.
  • Design territory and account coverage; rebalance as markets mature or new markets open.
  • Personally lead or co-lead the most complex, strategic, and multi-market opportunities.
  • Approve deal terms and exceptions within delegated authority and escalate beyond it.
  • Maintain and improve the acquisition playbook, discovery frameworks, and approval parameters.
  • Own creation of property playbook for expansion into new markets.

Pipeline & Performance Management

  • Own national pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and time-to-close.
  • Establish reporting standards and CRM discipline across the team.
  • Diagnose conversion gaps and intervene with coaching or process change.
  • Report team performance, market trends, and risks to executive leadership.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Regional Directors, Market Managers, and Partner Success to ensure clean transition and activation of new partners.
  • Work with Product and Operations on tooling, data quality, and partner-facing improvements.

Success Measures

  • Net-new property partners activated and vacant units added, nationally.
  • Team attainment against individual and territory growth targets.
  • Pipeline velocity, conversion rates, and forecast accuracy.
  • Team retention, ramp time for new hires, and employee development.
  • Quality and timeliness of handoffs to Market and Partner Success teams.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in strategic partnerships, B2B sales, or relationship-driven growth, including at least 2+ years directly managing a team.
  • Demonstrated success building and developing a high-performing acquisition or sales team.
  • Track record of owning and achieving multi-market or national growth targets
  • Experience closing complex, multi-stakeholder agreements and coaching others to do the same.
  • Strong command of CRM-based pipeline management, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to translate strategy into territory plans, playbooks, and clear individual accountability.
  • Sound judgment on deal exceptions, prioritization, and escalation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; credible with both property owners and executives.
  • Ability to travel across markets as business needs require.

Preferred

  • Direct experience in multifamily property management, real estate, or housing.
  • Knowledge of supportive housing programs: Housing Choice Voucher, Rapid Rehousing, VASH, LIHTC, or similar.
  • Experience scaling a function through a period of rapid market expansion.
  • Salesforce proficiency; comfort with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
