Job Description
Position Title: Bar Back
Reports to (Position Title): Bar Manager
Position Overview
The Bar Back supports the bartending and beverage team by maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar operation. This position plays an important role in providing the high level of service and hospitality expected at our country club. The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional appearance and positive attitude.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist bartenders with stocking beer, wine, spirits, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other bar supplies.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked bar areas throughout service.
• Replenish beverages, ice, glassware, napkins, and other supplies as needed.
• Assist with opening and closing side-work, including cleaning and restocking.
• Wash and polish glassware and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Remove empty bottles, trash, and other items from the bar and service areas.
• Assist bartenders with guest requests and service needs as directed.
• Keep coolers, storage areas, and beverage stations clean and organized.
• Help receive, rotate, and properly store beverage deliveries.
• Follow all club procedures regarding sanitation, food safety, alcohol service, and workplace safety.
• Provide courteous and professional service to members and their guests.
• Communicate effectively with bartenders, servers, supervisors, and other club staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing exceptional member and guest service.
Credentials and Experience:
• Previous restaurant, bar, hospitality, or country club experience preferred.
• Must be at least the minimum legal age required for the position and alcohol-related duties in the applicable jurisdiction (18+).
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during special club events as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and carry cases of beverages and other supplies.
