Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and strategic Supervisor of Medication Management Services to lead and oversee our psychiatric prescribing team in coordination of the team’s Director, including Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) and shared administrative staff. This leadership position is responsible for the clinical quality, compliance, supervision, and overall coordination of all medication management services provided within the practice.
The Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring excellent clinical care, operational efficiency, and adherence to best practices in psychiatric medication management. They will serve as a clinical resource and mentor, while supporting the integration of prescribing services with the broader therapeutic team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
Provide direct supervision, clinical oversight, and mentorship to a team of PMHNPs and shared administrative staff
Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development planning
Ensure providers maintain timely, accurate documentation and comply with clinical protocols
Clinical Operations
Oversee and optimize the delivery of psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and case coordination
Maintain and enforce standardized protocols and procedures to ensure quality, safety, and compliance
Coordinate onboarding and training of new prescribing staff
Collaboration & Integration
Partner with therapists, leadership, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated, holistic care
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to strategic planning regarding clinical services
Serve as a clinical escalation point for complex cases or provider concerns
Regulatory & Quality Assurance
Ensure all prescribing staff maintain valid licensure, CDS/DEA registrations, and continuing education
Monitor adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, including HIPAA compliance
Lead quality assurance initiatives and support audit preparedness
Patient Experience
Support high standards of patient care, satisfaction, and outcomes
Address concerns related to medication management services promptly and professionally
Administrative Responsibilities
Oversee the daily administrative operations of Medication Management Services, including scheduling, documentation workflows, and coordination with front office and billing teams
Manage scheduling for all subordinate staff within the Medication Management Services department to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care
Review and approve patient letter requests, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and timely delivery in compliance with organizational standards
Develop, implement, and monitor administrative policies and procedures that promote efficiency, compliance, and high-quality patient service
Collaborate with the Executive team and administrative leadership on budgeting, staffing, and performance metrics related to medication management
Review and analyze departmental reports, ensuring data accuracy and identifying areas for operational improvement
Support administrative onboarding and orientation for new staff, ensuring consistency with organizational policies and standards
Requirements:Qualifications
Active and unrestricted APRN, DNP, or NP license in New Jersey
Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
Valid and unrestricted CDS & DEA registrations in NJ
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in psychiatric medication management
2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a behavioral health setting
Strong knowledge of EMR systems, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary care models
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Experience with children and adolescent populations is a plus
Schedule & Location
Full-time (30–40 hours per week)
Flexibility to work 2–3 evenings per week (until 8 PM)
Must be able to work between Princeton and Freehold locations as needed
Occasional remote/telehealth work may be integrated
