GENERAL SUMMARY:

Administers and coordinates operational activities of the hospital in support of policies, goals and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Managers by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers. Assumes direct responsibility of service line leadership for Cardiovascular Services and is responsible for the strategic planning, clinical planning, business development, growth, and quality improvement plans for all heart related programs in coordination with our medical staff, and physician and operational leadership across the delivery system.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. *Commits to the KRMC mission, vision, values and goals and consistently demonstrates our core values.

  1. *Collaborates in the assessment, development and implementation of new business and services.

  1. Assists with the promotion of new business and services.

  1. *Leads where appropriate and shares responsibility for the preparation of short term and long-range plans and budgets based on the strategic plan, goals and identified initiatives of the organization.

  1. *Oversees the departmental budgetary procedure to ensure proper operational and capital planning, appropriate and efficient use of resources, and consistent compliance to budgetary and fiscal controls.

  1. *Develops people by assessing individual and team needs, adequate management development and provides for capable management succession.

  1. *Implements, within scope of responsibility, procedures and mechanisms to promote effective communication and adequate information flow within and across departments.

  2. Establishes operating policies consistent with the Chief Executive Officer's and KRMC broad policies and objectives and ensures proper execution.

  3. *Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the Chief Executive Officer and members of the Senior Leadership Team as appropriate.

  1. Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.

  1. *Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the subordinate units/departments.

  1. Assists with performance improvement activities within and across areas of direct responsibility.

  1. *Ensures that organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations, HFAP standards and laws governing healthcare operations.

  1. *Maintains an environment of collaboration and cooperation among hospital departments.

  1. *Maintains open lines of communication with subordinate departments.

  1. *Responsible for interviewing, hiring, assigning and directing work, counseling, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining personnel.

  1. *Maintains communication with the medical staff; attends assigned medical staff committee meetings including the Medical Executive Committee.

  1. Effectively presents written and verbal information to leadership, employees, medical staff, public groups, and the Board of Managers.

  1. *Coordinates with the Senior Leadership Team and managers to ensure cohesive management of daily operations.

  1. *Interacts and maintains healthy positive working relationships with providers credentialed at KRMC.

  1. *Assists and coordinates activities to drive improved revenue cycle performance.

  1. *Manages and oversees all facility expansion projects, capital equipment purchases, vendor/supplier/manufacturer contracts and analysis, IT and informatics, EVS, facilities, and materials management.

  1. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

  1. Participates in and/or leads meetings, committees, strategic planning and lean projects as assigned.

  1. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or equivalent, or related post graduate study required. Minimum of seven (7) years of healthcare management experience in a hospital or provider setting required. Proven ability to work effectively with physicians, governance, and senior leadership required.
