REPORTS TO: Managing Director C&I
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Commercial Banking Executive - C&I will work with all bank staff including other Commercial Banking Executives, Branch Managers, Retail Branch Staff, Commercial Banking Administrators, Loan Processing, and Debt Management departments. The Commercial Banking Executive – C&I will work with and present loans to the Loan Committee and Board of Directors and will report to a direct supervisor.
Essential Functions

- Develops new customer prospects and business for the financial institution.
- Actively participate in market events for brand awareness.
- Analyzes the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities.
- Negotiates credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods, and collateral specifications.
- Develops and maintains interest rate structure, with assistance of management or Loan Committee, to be consistent with Bank policies and procedures, and to be competitive with current market rate.
- Evaluates potential customer loan requests and makes loan recommendations to the Credit Department & Loan Committee.
- Reviews new laws and regulations that influence business lending within the financial institution and makes recommendations to management when necessary.
Other Duties
- Participates in training when required for the position.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities
- Maintain working knowledge of loan systems-how to create and/or obtain loan documents through the loan system.
- Cross-sell and promote other bank products to customers.
- Follow structured calling system as set by the supervisor based on expectations and/or goals.
- Knowledge of commercial C&I lending policies and procedures preferred.
- Knowledge of lending services, cash management services, and related areas preferred.
- Good managerial, collaboration, communication, organization, and sales skills preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.
Physical Demands
This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
Travel
Limited local travel may be required for this position.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Eight years’ experience in a financial institution or loan department preferred.
For Applicants located in Alexandria, Viriginia (VA): The anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000–$200,000 annually.
For Applicants located in Reston, Viriginia (VA): The anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000–$200,000 annually.
For Applicants located in Bethesda, Maryland (MD): The anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000–$200,000 annually.
The ranges listed for Viriginia and/or Maryland represent the good-faith compensation the Company reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation, such as bonuses or incentive pay, where applicable.
