Unit Overview

Join our 34-bed Medical/Surgical Unit, providing care to medical, surgical, and telemetry patients. The average length of stay is 3 to 4 days, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 5:1 on days and typically 6:1 on nights.

This fast-paced environment offers the opportunity to develop strong clinical skills while working alongside experienced nurses, educators, preceptors, and leaders dedicated to your success.

What to Expect

The Nurse Residency Program begins with Corporate Orientation and Nursing & Clinical Orientation and continues through successful completion of required courses, competencies, and at least 50% of elective coursework (approximately 8 months).

Throughout the program, you will:

  • Gain hands-on experience caring for a diverse patient population
  • Work closely with experienced preceptors and nurse educators
  • Receive emotional and clinical support during your transition to practice
  • Build confidence and clinical competence in a culture focused on quality and safety
  • Strengthen teamwork, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Learn to integrate current evidence and best practices into patient care
  • Become part of a supportive network of fellow nurse residents and experienced nurses
  • Develop the skills needed for long-term success and career growth
Requirements
  • 0 to 6 months of nursing experience
  • BSN preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse license in New Hampshire or another Compact State
  • BCLS certification required within 30 days for select nursing positions
