Job Summary

We are seeking an operational Regional Supply Chain Manager to lead and synchronize our statewide network of 10 construction materials, supplies, and equipment distribution branches across Connecticut. In this role, you will utilize Epicor Eclipse ERP, to manage complex product catalogs, multi-branch replenishments, and strategic buying. Additionally, you will oversee our heavy-duty local delivery fleet consisting of commercial flatbed trucks configured with either self-unloading knuckle booms or truck-mounted Moffett forklifts. The ideal candidate balances high-level digital asset management with practical, boots-on-the-ground leadership to guarantee flawless, job-site deliveries for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Synchronize 10 Regional Branches: Orchestrate inventory balancing and high-volume Multi-Branch Transfers (MBTs) across all 10 Connecticut facilities to ensure localized material and equipment availability.
  • Master Epicor Eclipse Purchasing: Leverage the Epicor Eclipse ERP to dictate purchasing queues, forecast diverse product demands—ranging from bulk construction supplies to high-turnover tools—and automate multi-location replenishment schedules.
  • Manage and Improve Core Inventory KPIs: Establish, monitor, and take accountability for regional inventory health by driving improvements across specific performance metrics:
    • Days Sales of Inventory (DSI): Lower the average number of days cash is tied up in stock across all facilities.
    • Inventory Turns: Increase asset velocity and turnover rates to maximize working capital efficiency.
    • Item Outs by Branch: Maintain a strict zero-out strategy on core stocked items, tracking and minimizing stockout occurrences, location by location.
    • Economic On-Hand Quantities (EOQ): Optimize order frequencies and safe stocking thresholds to balance carrying costs against ordering expenses
  • Manage Equipment & Serialized Inventory: Maintain precise ledger controls over high-value construction equipment, power tools, and machinery, ensuring accurate serial number tracking within the ERP.
  • Control Aged and Legacy Inventory: Audit the 10-branch network to identify slow-moving supplies, obsolete tools, and discontinued legacy building materials. Design and execute markdown, transfer, or liquidation strategies to clear warehouse and yard space.
  • Mitigate Excess Stock Accumulation: Establish proactive ERP triggers and threshold alerts within Eclipse to prevent over-purchasing. Rapidly reallocate unexpected bulk surpluses or canceled project supply orders to branches with higher local demand.
  • Govern High-Value Material Security: Oversee strict cyclical auditing, secure storage protocols, and tracking measures for high-value tools, equipment, specialized components, and premium materials to minimize shrinkage.
  • Manage Specialized Fleet Operations: Direct the routing, tracking, and asset utilization of a commercial flatbed fleet split between vehicle-mounted Moffett forklifts and mechanical knuckle boom unloading systems.
  • Optimize Local Delivery & Dispatch: Utilize native Eclipse dispatch tools or integrated logistics software like Epicor Elite EXTRA to maintain real-time route optimization and high-accuracy Proof of Delivery (POD) loops.
  • Enforce CDL Safety & Compliance: Oversee commercial driver qualification files, strict Department of Transportation (DOT) roadside compliance, vehicle maintenance schedules, and FMCSA safety protocols for all CDL-rated staff.
  • Execute Job-Site Drop Strategies: Build precise delivery protocols tailored for complex, active construction sites, mitigating transport risk when operating heavy material-handling equipment around tradespeople.
  • Drive Regional Margin Control: Partner with manufacturers and tool/equipment vendors to execute opportunistic buying, manage bulk stock allocations, and protect commodity margins in fluctuating markets.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 6+ years of logistics, warehouse, or fleet operations experience, with 3+ years managing multi-site distribution networks within the construction supplies, industrial equipment, or building materials sectors.
  • Data & KPI Proficiency: Proven track record of managing and optimizing DSI, Inventory Turns, Item Outs, and Economic Order/On-Hand Quantities (EOQ) across multiple distributed nodes.
  • Software Competency: Minimum 3 years of deep, daily operational management within Epicor Eclipse (specifically governing purchasing queues, branch transfers, and inventory modules).
  • Fleet Technicality: Practical, working knowledge of CDL Class A and Class B fleet regulations, including weight distributions, load securement/tarping, and DOT compliance.
  • Material Handling Equipment Familiarity: Thorough understanding of safety protocols and operational constraints surrounding either knuckle boom cranes or Moffett forklifts.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel regularly between our 10 established branches across Connecticut to audit safety compliance, inventory accuracy, and yard operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Eclipse Background: Direct experience implementing new system custom layouts, Eclipse WMS, or advanced freight matrix updates.
  • Credentials: Active Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) designation or a background as a former CDL holder/fleet compliance safety officer.
  • Software Competency: Minimum 3 years of deep, daily operational management within Epicor Eclipse or a similar software (specifically governing purchasing queues, branch transfers, and inventory module).
  • Material Handling Equipment Familiarity: Thorough understanding of safety protocols and operational constraints surrounding either knuckle boom cranes or Moffett forklifts.
