Job Summary:

The key function of the Strategic Sourcing Manager is to provide leadership and strategic direction in a highly collaborative environment, to ensure a world class supplier partner network such that all quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and launch objectives are achieved across raw material, tolling, MRO, warehousing, and freight optimization projects.



Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage strategic sourcing in the assigned region in terms of material, products, services, warehouses, and freightAchieve cost savings and improve quality and service levels by launching periodic RFI/RFPs and identifying opportunity areas such as product standardization and supplier consolidationExecute strategic sourcing projects for assigned categories by implementing sourcing strategies, leading negotiations, selecting suppliers, and overseeing project execution.Proactively identify improvement opportunities for the assigned category areas and recommend key actions to the appropriate stakeholdersEnsure that Drew Marine has good supply market understanding and work with the business / function teams to provide input for creating innovative win-win customer and supplier strategiesEffectively work with functional and business groups as a trusted advisor to ensure continuity of operations, determine desired product/service specifications and projected demand when making recommended action plans Develop and Execute Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) processes including supplier classification, governance, performance management and supplier developmentExhibit solid business and financial acumen, ability to review and attest payments and summarize cost dataDemonstrate solid understanding of development/ interpretation of technical specifications and their application in an operations environmentCombine all spend information into yearly plans and long-term forecasts for costs, savings targets, and planned projectsProvide subject matter expertise and drive use of Procurement best-in-class practices, sourcing methodologies, and standardization of Procurement processes while minimizing supply riskLead commodity and sourcing strategy, development, and executionOther duties and tasks as assigned

Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:

5-7 Years of Procurement experience within a regulated environment focused on cost improvementsContract Negotiation, Project Management, Category Management, and Business Analysis experienceExperience in change management and continuous improvementDemonstrated ability to conceive and lead transformation initiatives Project management and business transformation execution leadership experienceExcellent strategic thinking, influencing, analytical and communication capabilitiesUnderstanding of manufacturing processes from a chemical standpointPreferred experience in direct materials, tolling and MRO negotiationsERP experience (JDE experience a plus)Excellent analysis and Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)International sourcing experience preferredAbility to multi-task; detail oriented

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA preferred

Physical Working Environment:


The position works in a climate-controlled office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time. Position requires travel approximately 10-15% of the time.
