Python Data Engineer | Pleno

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Python Data Engineer | Pleno based in Brazil.

This role sits at the heart of building and maintaining scalable data systems that power analytics, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making. You will work in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment where data engineering excellence directly supports strategic business outcomes. The position involves designing robust ETL processes, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring high performance across large and complex datasets. You will collaborate closely with analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to transform raw data into reliable and usable insights. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on quality, scalability, and continuous improvement of data workflows. You will also contribute to data modeling, system integration, and the evolution of modern data platforms in a cloud-oriented ecosystem.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines that support analytical and operational use cases. You will work on transforming data from multiple sources into structured, high-quality datasets while ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability across all data workflows. You will also contribute to monitoring, optimization, and documentation of data processes while collaborating across technical and business teams.

  • Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data workflows
  • Build, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines for analytical consumption
  • Model, transform, and integrate data from multiple heterogeneous systems
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, performance, and sustainability of data solutions
  • Monitor data workloads and optimize for cost, efficiency, and performance
  • Perform data modeling and support analytical exploration, segmentation, and reporting
  • Document technical processes, pipelines, and data architecture clearly and consistently
  • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders
  • Support onboarding and knowledge sharing for new team members
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in data engineering processes
Requirements

This position requires strong hands-on experience in data engineering, with a solid foundation in Python, SQL, and modern data processing concepts. You should be comfortable working with both relational and non-relational databases, and able to operate effectively in environments with large and complex datasets. Strong analytical thinking, collaboration skills, and attention to detail are essential.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience working with ETL processes and data pipeline development
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Background in data analysis, KPI monitoring, and analytical studies
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation in English
  • Familiarity with Data Lake concepts and Apache Spark (preferred)
  • Experience in data engineering projects with large-scale data environments (preferred)
  • Knowledge of data governance, quality, and architecture best practices (preferred)
