Manager, Solutions Engineering

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Solutions Engineering based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead and grow a high-performing Solutions Engineering organization supporting strategic customers across the Americas. You will combine people leadership with hands-on technical engagement, acting as both a coach and a trusted advisor to enterprise stakeholders. The position spans presales strategy, account development, technical discovery, demonstrations, workshops, and solution validation. You will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, Product, and Engineering to drive customer adoption and business growth. The role also provides significant influence over regional go-to-market strategy and product direction through customer and field insights. Success requires strong ownership, commercial awareness, technical credibility, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-scaling environment. Your impact will extend beyond the region by shaping practices, teams, and customer outcomes at a broader organizational level.

Accountabilities
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Adopt a player-coach approach by balancing team leadership and performance management with direct involvement in strategic customer engagements.
  • Provide executive sponsorship for key regional accounts and serve as a technical thought leader for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Own regional planning, priorities, initiatives, and outcomes while working toward quarterly and annual business objectives.
  • Partner with Sales leadership on pipeline generation, top-of-funnel programs, marketing initiatives, community activities, and industry events.
  • Develop programs, enablement materials, and customer resources that support successful adoption of technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to communicate customer requirements, influence product priorities, and improve solutions based on field feedback.
  • Lead the team's presales execution across discovery, technical demonstrations, stakeholder interviews, workshops, proof-of-value engagements, and mutual account planning.
  • Own the team's pipeline-generation plan in partnership with Sales and regional leadership, helping drive new-logo opportunities and exceed quarterly targets.
  • Monitor team performance and establish a consistent operating cadence, ensuring progress, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the high-tech industry, with experience in roles such as Software Developer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Engineering Manager, or similar.
  • Proven experience managing, mentoring, developing, and evaluating team members over time.
  • Strong ability to lead with a coaching mindset while remaining comfortable taking a hands-on role in strategic customer and sales engagements.
  • Experience with open-source selling, cloud-first environments, or product-led go-to-market strategies is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or operating within formal sales methodologies and qualification frameworks such as Command of the Message and MEDDPICC.
  • Direct experience selling monitoring, observability, data, visualization, or related technology solutions.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage a book of business, prioritize initiatives independently, and direct both individual and team efforts toward exceeding quarterly targets.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience partnering effectively with Sales leadership and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent executive communication, customer-facing, coaching, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be located in the United States.
