Position Summary

Backwaiters support thoughtful, attentive service through teamwork, efficiency, and genuine hospitality. They anticipate the needs of both guests and teammates while ensuring every table is cared for with professionalism and attention to detail. Reports to the General Manager.

Job Responsibilities

• Support Servers by maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared tables throughout service.
• Anticipate the needs of guests and teammates by proactively resetting tables, refilling water, clearing plates, and delivering food as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock levels throughout the dining room and service stations.
• Handle glassware, china, silverware, and service equipment with care and attention to detail.
• Communicate clearly and work collaboratively with Servers, Bartenders, kitchen teams, managers, and teammates.
• Adapt to changing priorities and assist teammates to ensure smooth, efficient service.
• Complete all required education and assessments.
• Represent the restaurant with warmth, curiosity, professionalism, and genuine care.

Qualifications

• Restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
• Passion for hospitality and working as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain organized, efficient, and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and carry trays, bus tubs, and other restaurant equipment safely.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout each shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive motion.
• Ability to work safely around hot surfaces, sharp objects, and wet floors.
