About This Position

    • The Wound Management WOC Nurse Practitioner provides leadership in the care of patients with a variety of wounds, across the organization. This includes utilization of clinical expertise to provide clinical care, counseling, and teaching to patients in need of wound management. S/he has primary responsibility for educating nurses to ensure knowledge and competency in basic wound management; and works collaboratively with a variety of health care providers in planning and coordinating the care. The WOC Nurse Practitioner is an integral part of multiple teams, as a clinician, educator, consultant, leader, and investigator.

  • EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum Required:

      • Position requires completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and licensure in the state of North Carolina as a registered nurse, with NC Board of Nursing and NC Medical Board approval to use the title Nurse Practitioner.

      • WOCN certification with a minimum of 2 years experience as a WOC nurse is required for this position.

      • Must obtain and maintain a valid DEA number from the Drug Enforcement Agency.

      • BCLS certification and ACLS certification within a year of hire.

      • Demonstrated self-direction, leadership, organization skills, and written and verbal communication skills.

    • Preferred:

      • Nurse Practitioners with MSN and valid FNP certificate upon hire.
