Job Title: Project Manager – Power Generation Projects
Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of gas turbine power generation and waste heat power generation (combined-cycle) projects. This role provides full lifecycle project management oversight, ensuring that construction activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable regulatory, environmental, safety, and quality standards.
The Project Manager serves as the primary coordinator among owners, construction contractors, supervision firms, design institutes, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and achievement of business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead and coordinate all phases of gas turbine and waste heat power generation project construction, from planning through commissioning and acceptance.
- Implement company construction policies, management objectives, and project execution plans to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.
- Develop and implement detailed project execution plans, including scope, schedule, quality, safety, and cost controls.
- Monitor and control project progress, quality, safety, and cost performance to ensure alignment with approved targets.
Engineering & Technical Oversight
- Review and verify design plans, construction drawings, and technical documentation; identify design issues and propose optimized solutions.
- Organize and participate in design reviews, construction drawing reviews, and technical coordination meetings.
- Review technical approvals, detailed designs, construction materials, and engineering change proposals to ensure technical feasibility and cost control.
- Resolve on-site engineering and technical issues encountered during construction.
Contract & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate and manage construction contractors, supervision firms, design units, and suppliers to ensure compliance with contract terms and project requirements.
- Ensure all participating parties fulfill contractual obligations and adhere to project management plans.
- Review and approve project progress payments in accordance with contract terms and verified work completion.
- Strictly manage and approve construction changes, rework, variations, stoppage requests, and extra-budgetary site work to control construction-stage costs.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards related to environmental protection, occupational safety, fire protection, and construction quality.
- Organize professional inspections and reviews of construction quality, schedule adherence, and safe and civilized construction practices.
- Supervise and assess the supervision company’s effectiveness in managing quality, schedule, and safety performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Commissioning & Project Close-Out
- Oversee project testing, commissioning, trial operation, acceptance, and handover activities.
- Manage project documentation, completion filings, and regulatory submissions in coordination with relevant authorities.
- Support production preparation activities to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operation.
- Participate in final project inspections and acceptance reviews.
Required Knowledge & Competencies
- Strong understanding of power generation project engineering drawings, with the ability to identify design deficiencies and coordinate technical resolutions.
- Comprehensive coordination capability across construction, supervision, design, and supplier organizations.
- Familiarity with thermal power plant processes and the ability to guide multidisciplinary production and construction activities.
- Solid knowledge of thermal power plant construction, installation processes, and applicable national and industry regulations.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering Management, Thermal Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing thermal power generation construction projects of 30 MW or greater.
- Direct responsibility for the comprehensive construction management of at least two thermal power generation projects.
- Experience with installation, commissioning, and management of steam turbine generator units (condensing or extraction-condensing).
- Experience in the operation and management of gas turbine generator sets and waste heat recovery power generation systems (combined-cycle projects).
Certifications (Preferred)
- Registered Constructor, Professional Engineer, Supervising Engineer, or equivalent professional certification.

- English and Chinese bilingulal is preferred but not mandatory.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness and ability to undertake long-term domestic and international travel as required by project needs.
