COMPANY SUMMARY:  

The focus of Hodge Western Corp over the last 20 years started in heavy civil and evolved into technology-driven, specialty underground utility construction. We operate in three divisions: Renewable Energy, Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), and Rock Trenching. JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and maintaining accurate records. This role is crucial for ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process weekly and off cycle payrolls
  • Navigate multi-state, multi-union, and prevailing wage pay groups
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage employee benefits, deductions, and leave of absence processes.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Serves as backup for Certified Payroll Reporting

HR Department:

  • This position works onsite in Prineville, OR Mon to Friday 7AM-4PM
  • This position reports to and is supported by our HR & Payroll Manager
  • This position collaborates with four remote Project Admins, two on site HR specialists, and a remote Certified Payroll Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably construction experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems, preferably ADP.
  • Familiarity with federal and state payroll regulations and compliance.
  • Preferred familiarity with Union and prevailing wage rules.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Annual Salary: $65,000-80,000 based on experience
  • 100% Company-paid Medical Insurance premiums for you and your family.
  • Four-week annual PTO; 40 hours of annual Sick Time
