About the Position:
The Activities Coordinator plays a key role in supporting adults participating in our structured PHP (Partial Hospitalization) program, a day treatment and recovery support program. This position helps create a welcoming, engaging, and supportive environment by assisting clients with daily non-clinical needs, facilitating groups and activities, and promoting community connection throughout the treatment experience.

The role combines client interaction, group facilitation, transportation support, and operational responsibilities to help ensure a safe, organized, and positive program environment.
Schedule:
Part-Time, 20 hours per week
Saturday - Sunday: 9:00 am - 7:30 pm
Your Role:
- Create a welcoming, supportive, and structured environment for clients throughout their treatment experience.
- Address day-to-day non-clinical client needs while maintaining professionalism, compassion, and strong service standards.
- Facilitate 12-Step support meetings, psychoeducational groups, life skills activities, and community-based outings.
- Support trip and activity planning, including coordinating logistics and attending outings as needed.
- Provide peer support, encouragement, and positive engagement to individuals at various stages of recovery.
- Communicate behavioral concerns, safety issues, or client-related incidents promptly to program leadership.
- Conduct routine room and community inspections to help maintain program standards and quality-of-life expectations.
- Assist clients with approved store runs and transportation needs as appropriate.
- Facilitate additional program groups and activities based on program needs.
- Ensure completion of assigned client surveys and related program documentation.
- Support the collection and documentation of toxicology screening samples in accordance with program procedures.
- Perform medication room support duties in alignment with Mountainside policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members across departments to help ensure an exceptional client experience.
- Safely transport clients and materials while adhering to all traffic laws, safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Conduct basic vehicle safety checks and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Assist with operational errands including food pickup, mail delivery, supplies, and other program-related tasks.
- Provide professional and courteous assistance to passengers entering and exiting vehicles.
- Complete incident and accident reports accurately and promptly when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent - Required
- Bachelor’s Degree - Preferred
- Minimum of one year working in substance abuse or behavioral health setting - Preferred
- Minimum of one year working in customer service - Preferred
- Proficient in CPR, Heimlich Maneuver, and First Aid - Preferred
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record - Required
Compensation:
The base rate of pay for this position is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
