Days / Shift: Monday through Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm (with flexibility to meet agency needs)

Position Summary:
The Development & Marketing Coordinator supports fundraising growth, donor engagement, and community visibility through marketing, communications, and development operations. This role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day marketing initiatives, managing social media, creating communications materials, maintaining donor data systems, and supporting fundraising campaigns and events.
This position blends creativity, organization, and relationship-centered communication to strengthen awareness, donor retention, community engagement, and revenue growth for SafeSpace.

Marketing & Communications
- Implement strategic marketing, public relations, and social media plans to increase visibility and engagement
- Create and schedule social media content across platforms
- Create flyers, graphics, brochures, annual report content, event materials, and promotional campaigns
- Draft press releases, email campaigns, newsletters, donor communications, and solicitation letters
- Maintain consistent brand standards, messaging, positioning, and tone of voice across all communication platforms
- Update website content and assist with digital communications
- Capture, research, and share impact stories that inspire support and strengthen community connection
- Collaborate with staff to brainstorm and develop creative campaigns, visuals, and messaging
- Track engagement metrics and provide monthly marketing performance summaries
Development Support
- Process and acknowledge donor gifts in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain and update donor, volunteer, and prospect records in CRM
- Prepare donor lists, mailing lists, segmented outreach lists, and routine fundraising reports
- Support fundraising campaigns, annual appeals, sponsorship outreach, and stewardship efforts
- Assist in expanding digital giving opportunities through marketing strategy and donor engagement
- Support the Development Manager in achieving annual fundraising goals
- Maintain templates, marketing files, and communication calendars
- Coordinate printing orders, vendor requests, and production schedules
- Collaborate with staff across departments to support agency goals and mission
Event & Community Engagement
- Promote fundraising events, campaigns, and community initiatives through marketing channels
- Track RSVPs, attendee lists, and sponsorship recognition materials
- Support post-event communications, stewardship, and follow-up
- Represent SafeSpace at community meetings, workplace campaigns, and networking events when requested
- Attend meetings, committees, and organizational functions as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- 4+ years’ experience in marketing, communications, fundraising support, nonprofit operations, and/or administrative coordination
- Experience creating graphics, flyers, brochures, annual reports, solicitation materials, and promotional campaigns
- Social media management experience (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Excellent written communication skills (emails, newsletters, donor appeals, press releases, captions, storytelling)
- Ability to create compelling content that inspires giving, engagement, and community support
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or similar design platforms
- Basic video editing/content creation experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and donor CRM systems
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build authentic relationships with donors, volunteers, partners, and community members
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
- Nonprofit experience preferred but not required

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must pass Level 2 background screening

Training Requirements:
Required onboarding training will be conducted at the Administrative office or designated location during the hours of 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Must successfully complete CORE Competency training provided by the agency within 90 days of employment and participate in ongoing mandatory education and skills training on relevant topics as required by statutory funding, certification of the agency or personnel, or as identified to improve employee performance. Must maintain annual training requirements outlined in the employee manual.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Will be a noisy environment that is fast paced with high stimulation. Primarily office-based or hybrid; must be able to manager occasional lifting or mail/event materials (reasonable accommodation available).
