The Biller & Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the mission of the community health care clinics by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant billing and accounts receivable processes. This position helps maintain high-quality service delivery by verifying insurance coverage, preparing and managing claims, resolving denials, and assisting patients and staff with billing-related inquiries. These responsibilities directly support the clinic’s commitment to accessible, patient-centered, and culturally responsive care by promoting efficient workflows and clear communication across financial and clinical teams.This position works with the Revenue Cycle Manager to help manage rejected claims, post payments, support daily deposit reconciliations, make account adjustments, work accounts receivable lists, and send patient statements, contributing to the clinic’s financial stability and high-quality service delivery.
A day in the life of a Biller includes:- Managing claims by verifying insurance is active, verifying coding and diagnosis, ensuring accuracy of charges.
- Working with patients to help them understand their bill, process payments, collecting past due balances on accounts, and answering general questions about their account.
- Working with insurance companies and processing payments, assisting with denials.

- $20.25 - $23.66 per hour, depending on experience and certifications

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in previous medical or dental billing experience is required.
- Previous coding experience is preferred.
- Experience in Athena or Dentrix is preferred, but not required. Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with patients, staff members, insurance entities and others.
- Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity when working with individuals and groups of diverse racial, ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds.
- Intermediate computer knowledge required with the ability to learn and use electronic medical records, timekeeping, communications, etc.
- Ability to work at any location as needed, and to travel to training or meetings outside of the service area.
- Bilingual skills is preferred.
