Pay Range: $20.18 - $25.34 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

A hospital patient registrar collects patient information and performs several functions, from verifying insurance to executing admissions, transfer, and discharge procedures. This professional must remain calm and efficient since work is often performed in a fast-paced environment where time is of the essence.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Knowledge of medical technology helpful
  • Good typing and computer skills a must

Preferred:

  • Fluent in Spanish strongly preferred
  • High School Diploma preferred
  • At least 1 year experience preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift- 6:00am-2:00pm
  • Monday – Friday
  • Full Time/Day

Essential Functions:

  • Experience in a hospital patient registration setting, doctors’ office, handling patients scheduling, obtaining pre-certifications, authorizations and referrals or patient services environment strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in a census management, assigning beds, position
  • Previous experience in a patient services environment billing/collections-must have a working knowledge of more than one provider such as Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs and others
  • Experience in completing medical assistance application, family care, PEs, PAICs or charity care, helpful
  • Experience in a customer service related environment preferred
  • Well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to understand and communicate with persons of varying acuities
  • Must be able to work with the public and maintain poise under difficult situations at all times
