Essential Functions

The Lead MTSS Facilitator is responsible for the oversight, coaching, and support of all MTSS Facilitators, ensuring the safety and well‑being of scholars with a strong focus on academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional growth. In addition to supervising MTSS personnel, the Lead MTSS Facilitator oversees the work of facilitators serving assigned scholars through the MTSS process and supports school staff in maintaining a learning environment that is positive, structured, and conducive to scholar success. The Lead MTSS Coordinator manages the overall culture of the building while designing, implementing, and monitoring the case‑management process for scholars in Tiers I and II, ensuring consistent alignment with MTSS best practices and schoolwide expectations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership, coaching, and ongoing support to MTSS Facilitators, ensuring consistent implementation of MTSS Tier I and Tier II intervention.
  • Reviews and ensures accurate logging of interactions, documentation of meetings, and communication with families by all MTSS staff.
  • Coordinates and supervises smooth building-wide transitions at arrival, dismissal, and throughout the school day.
  • Leads and facilitates professional development and training for staff on effective and cohesive MTSS implementation.
  • Supervises intervention planning for scholars, overseeing behavior, attendance, and academic support strategies.
  • Ensures enforcement of the Code of Student Conduct and all school policies across MTSS personnel.
  • Responds to potential scholar conflicts, providing guidance on de‑escalation and intervention while supporting staff in restorative approaches.
  • Leads the implementation and monitoring of the School Climate Plan and building‑wide culture systems.
  • Ensures MTSS Facilitators consistently reinforce appropriate behaviors and follow restorative practice protocols.
  • Oversees monitoring of student behavior during unstructured times (hallways, lunch, recess) and ensures staff coverage and support.
  • Performs related supervisory duties as required to support school safety, culture, and MTSS implementation.
  • Ensures MTSS staff presence in key hallway and restroom areas to maintain safety and provide behavioral support
  • Trains and supervises staff in the use of Safe Crisis Management during physical conflict situations.
  • Ensures that all MTSS Facilitators implement Restorative Practices when addressing student behavior

Requirement/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience Supervising
  • 3-5 year of full-time, paid or volunteer experience participating in community or schools developing or implementing conflict resolution programs.
  • Multi-faceted, multi-skilled, resourceful, and willing to do whatever it takes to help our scholars reach a level of academic excellence
  • Model positive and healthy character traits and habits, such as being organized, consistent and understanding Unquestioned integrity and commitment to the Universal’s mission and willingness to serve the Universal community

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the building sub is regularly required to:

  • Speak, stand, talk, walk, see, hear and, sometimes, to sit.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,

peripheral vision, and the ability to read small print.

  • Frequently bend, reach above the head, as well as forward, and use fine motor

skills.
