About This Position

Purpose:

The Recruiter is responsible for attracting, sourcing, and hiring qualified engineering talent to support business objectives. This role partners with hiring managers to understand technical staffing needs and ensures a streamlined, positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

  • Understanding and identifying the company’s engineering recruitment needs and requirements
  • Developing and implementing strategies to source potential candidates
  • Using job boards, social networks, and other professional platforms to attract prospective candidates
  • Screening and reviewing resumes and applications for suitability
  • Conducting initial interviews to assess applicant’s technical knowledge, soft skills and cultural fit
  • Coordinating interview process with engineering hiring managers
  • Maintaining relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved
  • Staying up-to-date on current recruiting methods and industry trends
  • Providing regular updates and feedback to hiring managers
  • Negotiating job offers and onboarding new hires
  • Maintaining a database of potential future candidates

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Proven work experience as a Recruiter, 5 years or more, preferably with a focus on engineering roles
  • Strong understanding of the engineering industry and technical roles  Experience managing student programs (Summer interns and co-op), preferred
  • Proficient in the use of social media and job boards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple candidate pipelines simultaneously.
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of engineering job market, trends, and various engineering disciplines to source the most suitable candidates for the job
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for contacting potential candidates, conducting interviews, and maintaining relationships with candidates and clients
  • Proficiency in using recruitment software and social media platforms to source candidates and create a talent pipeline
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously, demonstrating excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Problem-solving skills to overcome hiring challenges and fill engineering roles quickly and efficiently.
  • Negotiation skills to secure competitive compensation packages for candidates and satisfactory terms with clients
  • Decision-making skills to select the best candidates based on their qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role


Legal Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with periodic travel to company locations as required.
  • Occasional exposure to R&D environments

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Remote Work: Eligible for hybrid remote work schedule at management’s discretion

Flexible Work: Flexible working hours if/as required

Travel Frequency: Up to 20% travel (within Michigan)
