In February 2022, Helix was acquired by Hines marking an exciting new chapter to further propel our property management offering in the UK and customer centric approach. Helix has a long-standing relationship with Hines over the past ten years, with Helix providing property management services across the majority of properties in the Hines UK portfolio including: 20 Old Bailey, 7 Soho Square and Atlas House in London, alongside all of the Hines European Core Fund, Hines European Value Fund and Hines Global Income Trust assets.


Helix continues to deliver an above market service to its existing client base, operating from its central London office. Helix manages all commercial asset types nationwide, but with a focus on prime central London offices, accounting for 70% of their portfolio. Operating under one roof the surveying, facilities management and finance functions work closely and collaboratively together. Everyone works in an open plan environment which cultivates a relaxed and fun working atmosphere, openness with colleagues at every level and in close proximity to the Hines offices.



Responsibilities

You will be joining at a hugely exciting time for Helix with the opportunities that the acquisition by Hines brings including the growth of the portfolio and an increased focus on ESG and technology.


You will fully responsible for overseeing and managing the service charge team, in addition to managing your own portfolio of properties.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to the service charge team
  • Line management responsibility
  • Identify and provide ongoing training to ensure the team has necessary skills and knowledge
  • Set clear goals, monitor performance against KPIs, and conduct regular reviews
  • Prepare annual reconciliation and accounts in compliance with RICS guidelines
  • Liaise with property managers and clients in order to gain approval of accounts
  • Assist property managers in preparation and management of service charge budgets
  • Implementation of reconciliations and budgets onto the accounting system
  • Deal with queries raised by colleagues, clients and tenants
  • Implementation of new clients onto our accounting system, ensuring a smooth and correct handover takes place
  • Complete cash reconciliations on a timely basis
  • Manage a portfolio of client properties
  • Assist in all other duties, where deemed necessary to help the team


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

  • Previous experience in accounting with service charge experience
  • Previous experience with TRAMPS/Yardi
  • Previous experience with Excel to a high level
  • Proactive with excellent problem solving skills
  • Good typing skills and high level of accuracy
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good numerical skills including computer literacy (Excel, Word, MS Outlook)
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills
  • Able to use initiative and take responsibility
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • A thorough knowledge of RICS regulations and accounting procedures
