About This Position

Full-time, benefits eligible, in-house maintenance position.

Purpose:

Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all electrical systems utilized in the facility, including: Single Phase and 3-Phase circuitry, motor starter circuits up to 2400 volts, high voltage substation and switchyard equipment up to 13,800 volts, variable frequency drives, PLC's and DCS systems, HVAC and lighting systems, electro-pneumatic robots, film wrap machines, conveying equipment, fire suppression systems and metal detectors. Typical duties also include new installation of conduit, wire and electrical equipment, and removal of obsolete electrical systems.


Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities:

- Perform various tasks associated with repair of electrical equipment in the plant.

- Follow safety procedures during maintenance activities around high voltage equipment in the plant.

- Troubleshoot various production/maintenance problems and implement solutions.

- Document maintenance activities through recording of data and other information on quality records and log sheets.

- Follow all safety and operating procedures as required – periodic review of the procedures and documentation of training is required in STP and/or Reliance systems

- Conduct 5S inspections and activities to maintain good housekeeping.

- Investigate quality and productivity problems and implement solutions.

- Support plant operations by responding to off shift call-ins for repair of mission critical plant equipment breakdowns.

- Attend specialized training as required to support new plant equipment.

- Experience in closing workorders, procuring materials and researching equipment history in CMMS software. (SAP preferred)


Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Electrical Journeyman's License is required.

Experience:

5+ years as an Electrician in an industrial setting is required.

Experience in closing workorders, procuring materials and researching equipment history in CMMS software is required. SAP software experience is preferred.

Other:

- Experienced in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing and facility equipment as well as flexibility to work in a continuous operation chemical plant.

- Knowledge of three phase systems and motor controls is essential.

- Exposure to PLC's, robotics, HVAC, power distribution and lighting systems, in addition to strong problem solving skills.

- Continuously seeks ways to improve performance of our facility's operation and ensures that customers' (both internal and external) needs are met

- Adhere to the quality system.

- Maintains adequate training for plant hazardous waste to potentially package hazardous waste, operate a satellite accumulation container, or transport a hazardous waste to a hazardous waste storage area.

- Proven electrical aptitude, prior electrical experience in an industrial atmosphere, and familiarity with circuitry, high voltage, wire and electrical equipment.

- Ability to work hand tools. Requires reasoning, detailed work.

- Typical job responsibilities include ability to handle multiple priorities, perform critical thinking tasks including cause/effect analysis, crisis management and troubleshooting.

- Ability to follow work instructions and manufacturers repair and troubleshooting guides.

- Significant computer skills are required, including requirement to master plant databases used for various purposes in the workplace, DCS process control computer operation, and email.

- Self-directed computer-based training on updates to complex operating instructions is a job requirement.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required in coordination of daily activities with both peers and supervisors and in documentation of daily activities and completion of quality records and log sheets.
