Job Description for SAIOP Clinical Supervisor
Position Summary
The Clinical Supervisor provides direct clinical services and licensed clinical supervision within Sandhills’ SAIOP and other clinical programs. This role supports clinical quality, staff development, and compliance with North Carolina licensing rules.
The Lead Therapist may serve as a co-clinical lead, sharing supervisory and leadership responsibilities with another fully licensed LCAS as indicated. In collaboration with the SAIOP clinical team, this role supports ASAM screenings, comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, clinical supervision, and program oversight to ensure high-quality, compliant care.
As applicable and based on program capacity, the Co-Clinical Supervisor may also provide supervision and oversight for graduate-level practicum students and clinical interns.
Key Responsibilities
Lead / Co-Lead / Supervisory Responsibilities
• Serve as the lead or co-lead clinical supervisor, sharing responsibility for clinical oversight, staff support, and decision-making within SAIOP and applicable programs.
• Provide clinical supervision and professional guidance to SAIOP Certified Peer Support Specialists.
• Supervise graduate-level practicum students and/or clinical interns, as applicable and based on program capacity, including orientation, case consultation, documentation review, and skill development.
• Support onboarding, mentoring, and performance development of clinical staff in collaboration with the Clinical Operations Director.
• Assist with resolving clinical concerns, ethical questions, and treatment planning issues escalated by staff.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience supervising clinicians, interns, or practicum students.
• Experience working within an IOP or SAIOP level of care.
• Strong collaborative leadership and communication skills.
• Preference for LCSW and LCAS dually licensed clinician to fill this role.
